HVO has been a great contributor to the local economy and Australia in general for so many years it would be ludicrous to not allow a established mine and huge employer of local quality jobs to continue as long as it is economically viable. I believe to not sell our high quality coal in the international market would actually contribute to climate change as poorer quality products such as Indonesian coal would fill the void .Please make sense and Put Australia AND the World first !

I fully support the HVO continuation project. The mine provides employment for many friends and family in the local community. The proposal only mines within the current mine lease boundaries, with the final landform once rehabilitated leaving less voids in the land with rehab committed to be done to a higher standard. It provides massive economic benefits to my community.

HVO is a positive and very supportive employer. For my partner to have a stable job means he is able to financially support our young family. We moved our family to the Hunter Valley for this employment opportunity with HVO as it has a positive reputation and is a leader in the field. We have put down roots here and have our children at local schools and I now work for the local charity organization helping disadvantaged children.

I support the project, as I am a young tradesman that works for Hunter Valley Operations with a young family to support. The mine gives me job security in a time when not a lot of people have that. The rejection of the project would substantially affect my family financially, meaning we would have to most likely leave the local area to pursue another means of employment, which would have significant stresses on my two children’s education and social development due to new locations/schooling.

The economic benefit extends beyond the direct employee's, the support staff at HVO North and South is bolstered by numerous suppliers, contractors and full time equivalent labour hire employees not counted in the 1500. The real impact of closure will extend many times this value impacting hunter valley infrastructure including road / rail and multitudes of small business.

Without this project, I as others, would find ourselves in a financial dilema, but it would not only be personally it would also be professionally.
As HVO supports a multitude of local business and national charitable organisations.
