HVO South Open Cut Coal Continuation Project

I support this project as it would benefit Singleton and surrounding areas. It is imperative the project takes place as it secures thousands of jobs and apprenticeships, enabling growth and wealth for the hunter valley.

Hvo supports families within the hunter valley and this extension will provide the community and myself with security for the future

Employed by the mine for many years it’s my future and they support the community in many ways

I have worked at HVO as a permanent employee since 2004 and have seen many changes in the business but one thing that has not changed is how supportive HVO is to the local community. HVO supports the local community by employing hundreds of local people and also by utilising local businesses for additional labour and/or parts supply. HVO are always looking at ways to minimise disruption to the local community and environment. If HVO was to close this would have a devasting affect on local people and businesses. HVO continuation project should be approved for the people.

The project will be great for the future of the hunter valley . And with the mine not really increasing in size there will be no major impact on the surrounding communities . And with the continued taxes and royalties to the community it’s a win win in everyone eyes .
I can’t see why this project can’t go ahead.
I really hope the government makes the right decision!

I believe the mine provides much needed funding and coal exports for the region, it adds to our sense of community and supports locals in obtaining jobs helping keep jobs local. The mine extension is just a continuation of approved mine areas so limited distribution to locals whilst the community benefits.

I have many family and friends relying on HVO for employment. HVO Provides our town with amazing support.

I currently work at HVO’s South Pit and it is an amazing place to be, it supports not only myself and my fellow work colleagues, our families are supported to have a secure income & sense of security with what this company does for all of us.
The community benefits are also to be taken into consideration, it supports local businesses keeping their doors open and donations continue on for charities around the Hunter region

I support HVO continuation project as HVO supports me, my family and my community. HVO have a great standing here in the Hunter. I heavily rely on HVO for income for myself and my family and my community heavily rely on the support HVO give to the community.

The HVO project employs 100's of men and women, so to lose this would have a major impact on many communities in the Hunter Valley.

Approve this project great for jobs in the hunter region and great for the suppliers that benefit greatly from the mine being open and in operation

I believe HVO continuation is a good project to approve because it is maintained within the existing footprint.
I work in the mining industry and my husbands business works for the coal mining industry. Without this approval our lives will be significantly impacted.

Hi my name is Phillip Campbell, I support Hvo south proposal, I have been mining for 18 years and have only been at hvo for 5 months. It is the best pit I have worked at and the tidiest. I have a young family and most of my wages go back into the local community. I hope my daughter follows in my foot steps and if the mine gets the extension it is a possibility that can happen.
