BASIX is one of Australia’s strongest sustainable planning measures. Use the online BASIX assessment tool to assess the energy and water use and thermal comfort of your residential development.
On 29 August 2022, the NSW government announced increases to the BASIX standards, as part of the new Sustainable Buildings State Environmental Planning Policy (SEPP) which will come into effect on 1 October 2023.
The beta BASIX sandbox tool is available to test your designs against the higher standards.
An enhanced BASIX tool will be launched in mid-2023.
