- Angus place will continue to support a local workforce of up to 300 employees.
- Angus Place has a good track record of mining in our local area with minimal impacts to the people that live here and the local environment.
- Angus Place plays a big part in supplying coal for local electricity generation.
- Has involvement in local sporting and community groups which is possible by having local employment opportunities.
- Spending our salary at local businesses and services.
- If this development doesn't get approval our families would be affected big time with prospects of job relocations as my husband, son and son in-law all work at Angus Place which would be a huge impact on our families as we would all have to gain employment which could all end up in different locations away from here which would split up our family.
Angus Place supports and is involved deeply in a lot of things some which are listed below:
- school fund raisers
- World vision children
- Nursing homes eg. Tanderra, Cooinda and Three Tree Lodge
- Equipment for public and community hospitals
- Children's field trips, locally and overseas
- Underprivileged and disabled members of the community
- Early intervention kids
- Legacy
- Camp Quality
- Big morning tea
- Daffodil Day
- Barry Rushworth/Laurie Bender Cancer Walk

I am deeply concerned about the potential for this proposal to damage nationally significant natural areas.

I would rather see the Gardens of Stone region become protected for future generations to enjoy.

Important terrestrial and stream environments in this significant part of the Gardens of Stone region must not be damaged by longwall mining but instead protected in a state conservation area.

The Angus Place and the adjoining Springvale mine extension proposals must be subject to a Planning Assessment Commission review with concurrent Public Hearings.

Centennial Coal must not be allowed to simply replicate the damage it has already caused to nationally threatened upland swamps on the Newnes Plateau for which it was required by the Commonwealth Government to pay $1.45 million in reparations.

The sandstone strata supporting the 22 nationally endangered swamps, including the 7 shrub swamps must not be fractured.

It is in the best interest to the community of Lithgow that the Angus Place Extension is giving the go ahead. As the 300 strong work force thats employed there puts a huge contribution into the community in more ways the one. Angus Place has made contributions to many groups in the community and district such as sporting-schools-Pcyc-individuals during study and recently donated state of the art technology valued at around $30,000 to the private hospital. To lose this would really have a flow on effect to the community, small business's would lose a lot of business and family's could be forced out of the community to find work. Thank you

I have looked at the EIS. I have Driven and walked around the land/area out there that has already been mined plus the new area .
I have no objection with this project proceeding to the area described in the EIS.

To whom it concerns,
This land we live in is precious and delicate. The oceans are warming at a dramatic rate and in some years if we do not continue to cause more damage the poles will have melted. It will be too late as this will never reverse. We will be responsible for the decline of humanity and life on earth for no gain. We have at our disposal all the energy we need to harness and profit from.
This land in question is also very special. I travelled the world and geography like this is what draws tourists. This will never be the case if you destroy it. Please consider your actions for our future.
Sincerely, Susan Kaden

This proposal is a disgrace and if approved would cause untold damage in a highly sensitive area of unique environmental worth.

The Important terrestrial and stream environments in this significant part of the Gardens of Stone region must not be damaged by longwall mining but instead protected in a state conservation area. The Angus Place and the adjoining Springvale mine extension proposals must be subject to a Planning Assessment Commission review with concurrent Public Hearings. Centennial Coal must not be allowed to replicate the damage it has already caused to nationally threatened upland swamps on the Newnes Plateau for which it was required by the Commonwealth Government to pay $1.45 million in reparations. The sandstone strata supporting the 22 nationally endangered swamps, including the 7 shrub swamps must not be fractured. The proposed clearing of 14 hectares of forest for an additional ventilation facility is just plain wrong and its proposed location close to the Wolgan River is unacceptable. The proposed discharge of up to 43.8ML/day of eco-toxic mine effluent would badly pollute tthe Coxs River. Carne Creek is currently in a pristine state, and its waters that flow through the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area are of the highest standard. Centennia; Coal has already ruined the Wolgan River . Carne Creek, pagodas, cliffs and the many nationally endangered swamps that the current proposal puts at risk must not be damaged and the mining should not be approved!!

This is a letter of support for Angus Place mine Extension..As this mine supports hundreds of workers directly and tens of thousands of people indirectly this is a important and and large contributor to Lithgow/Bathurst and surrounding areas.
The mine is run with the community in mind and has through the workers and mines genourisity supported schools/charities(local and abroad)...and many more, too numerous to list.
Its with greatfullness and great support that Angus Place's Submission of extension goes ahead as it has been and continues to be a huge part in the survival, developement, the progress and support of Lithgow/Bathurst/Blue Mountains and surrounding areas..supporting working families..communities and helping needy causes....

As a former Angus Place employee still working in the mining industry I stand by the fact that Angus Place has an impeccable record of mining in our local area and within the industry, in their role of supplying coal to our power stations for the supply of energy to Australia. They have a major role within our community by way of employment - employing a workforce of up to 300 employees; this in itself has a huge impact within our economy and local business and services. The lost jobs would have a devastating effect on the community. The company and the workforce also support the community in many charities and services putting thousands of dollars into the ongoing support and running of these organizations yearly. To sum up my reason that the development should go ahead is that Angus Place plays a major role in our community and it has an excellent record of mining within it.They have always recognised the importance of effectively managing the environment with any development..

Angus Place East will employ up to 300. Has a good track record of mining in our local area and minimal impacts to people in the area and the local environment .Angus place plays a big part in coal supply for local electricity generation. Angus Place has a big involvement in local sporting and community groups, local employment, sponsorship and donations to community and charity organization. If this project is not approved what new employment opportunitys would be provided for the local community by the state government. Of late in our local area has lost industry and jobs we cant afford to lose any more in our community.

I do not approve of longwall mining under the endangered Newnes Plateau shrubs swamps and sensitive geological features. Mine subsidence causes widespread damage.
I also do not like the amenity of the Newnes Plateau being spoilt by the great amount of mining surface infrastructure.

Longwall mining under the endangered ecological communities of the Newnes Plateau will cause subsidence damage.
Rock formations will also be damaged.
Newnes Plateau with its unique shrub swamps should be added to the National Parks estate to protect it.
This should go to the Planning Assessment Commission (PAC) for a decision.

I object to the further degradation of the Newnes Plateau by coal mining. The amount of surface infrastructure and damage by longwall mining subsidence is appalling.
Protect Newnes Plateau with its unique biodiversity and endangered swamps by adding it to the National Parks estate.

Thank you for the opportunity to voice my deep concern.
Like thousands of others, my family cherishes our natural heritage and the thought of further degradation of any part of the Greater Blue Mountains is shocking.

eg. Carne Creek is currently in a pristine state, and its waters that flow through the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area are of the highest standard. This creek must not run bright orange or suffer reduced flows, just like the Wolgan River after Centennial Coal wrecked it.

Please require Centennial to revise this proposal to improve environmental outcomes. Carne Creek, pagodas, cliffs and the many nationally endangered swamps that the current proposal puts at risk must not be damaged.

Please ensure that our beautiful Blue Mountains environment remains free from mining so it can be enjoyed by my grandchildren and generations to come.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I strongly object the project.

Important terrestrial and stream environments in this significant part of the Gardens of Stone region must not be damaged by longwall mining but protected in a state conservation area.

The proposed clearing of 14 hectares of forest for an additional ventilation facility is excessive and its proposed location close to the Wolgan River is unacceptable.

The proposed discharge of up to 43.8ML/day of eco-toxic mine effluent must be treated using reverse osmosis technology to remove all metals and salts before discharge to the Coxs River.

Carne Creek is currently in a pristine state, and its waters that flow through the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area are of the highest standard. This creek must not run bright orange, just like the Wolgan River after Centennial Coal wrecked it.

Please require Centennial to revise this proposal to improve environmental outcomes. Carne Creek, pagodas, cliffs and the many nationally endangered swamps that the current proposal puts at risk must not be damaged.

Sincerely yours,

Henry
