I highly support the project at hunter valley operations. I have personally been employed at HVO since the start of 2018 and will do so for hopefully the remaining life expectancy of the mine. I highly enjoy the work we do here as a team, and I am grateful for the great work HVO does for the community. Every single employee and contractor at this site has made long term friends and gained life skills they can practice inside and outside of this site. I personally think if our project does not go ahead, it will have a massive impact on our unemployment rate and our community as a whole. Meaning too many people in our great hunter region will be left without a job, without an income, forcing families of all ages, young and old to relocate having a massive negative impact on our local community, small business and surrounding areas. I highly support hunter valley operations continuation project not only for us current employees and community but giving great opportunity to our future kids and locals of the area.

There should be more mines and power stations to create more power to lower the chance of black outs. Without power no one will have a job and the country will go down the drain

The continuation of this project will ensure the continuation of hundreds of jobs in the local area. It is crucial to our local economy and state economy who rely heavily on these jobs and money generated by the mining industry. Many families, local businesses and local industries rely on the mining industry as a means of income and economic growth.

1 Singleton needs these types of development because without this there is no employment for the area which means there is no need for the town and it means thousands of jobs lost in the mines and in local employment.

2 Without coal the country goes broke and we have no way to make sustainable power.

Coal mining in the valley is the largest job source. It is not an ideal industry. But it is what we have due to politicians selling Australian assets for short term gains with no sight of the future. Until Australia begins making and selling products we will need to continue mining as a source of income. Hopefully working to a future where we will no longer need to rely on selling our finite assets to make money as a nation.

I support the project based on that it will supply an income fore myself to support my family and also because the company does a lot o work for the community. Also the nsw government need the funding that the mine has to pay to the government to operate. The money based on what I know 850 odd million supports inferstructure and other various works can’t build that without the money.

I believe the continuation of mining at HVO is integral to the employment within the local community, as well as the economic benefit to the local area and further abroad.

I have worked at this mine for 15 years now, since I was 23. Like most people in the Hunter Valley, mining is all I know. My father, sister and many friends have or are all directly or indirectly employed by mining.
Everyone knows someone that works at HVO in this area. It is literally the heart of mining in the Valley being situated right in the middle of Muswellbrook and Singleton.
This mine is one of the more isolated mines in the Valley also, with very few residential neighbors and no townships within close proximity.
Everyone agrees that gradual improvements should be made with the environment and energy. But this is not going to happen overnight. And not allowing projects like this to continue will do nothing to improve ‘climate change’ or anything like that whatsoever. What it will do is destroy people, families and communities in this area.
If people from the city are so against projects like this continuing then I strongly encourage them to put Solar farms on Bondi beach, wind farms in Sydney Harbor..I didn’t think so.
I have my first child expecting this August and I absolutely rely on HVO South continuing for years to come to guarantee the future of my family

My husband has worked for HVO for the past 12 years his employment at HVO is our families main source of income if it was to cease operations we would find it very hard to pay our mortgage, car repayments and provide a future for our children.

I strongly believe with the continuation of the HVO South Open Cut Coal Project that the local communities will continue to be supported and benefit from the project through charities, donations and keeping the workforce and their families in the local areas.
I am currently employed as a fitter in the coal mines and as a primary income provider for my family, i believe that continuing the project will allow my family and myself to continue to live in the area and support our local community.
