I have conducted business with this site for many years and am very much aware of the way this operation conducts itself within the community it operates in. This site prides itself on extremely high level and diligent environmental impact management, ensuring they minimise or eliminate any negative impact on the environment they operate within.
On a more personal note, conducting business with this mine helps my business support its employees and their families, who are all local. We (as a business) also support local charities and those less fortunate, so by extending this mine life, will allow us to continue to do our bit for the community too.

HVO South continuation project supports the local and surrounding areas. PROGRAMMED provide over 250+ employees to HVO to ensure operations are run on a 24/7 nature. HVO and PROGRAMMED combined provide a significant number of opportunities for individuals to gain a start within the mining industry through our traineeship program. The continuation of this project would ensure that these opportunities continue for the many years to come.

HVO are an asset to our community, providing over 1500 jobs. HVO provide local charity support, sponsorship and a community grants program along with continuing taxes and mining royalties to support schools, hospitals and roads. I believe the continuation project should be approved. My family, along with many others are employed by hvo and the continuation project will mean jobs for our future.

MC Quality control is a growing business in NSW who has developed strong relationships with HVO and Weld Australia which has enabled MC Quality to employ and train 28 + local personal in the Singleton and Maitland areas and trained them to be professional welding inspectors, due to the ongoing opportunities at Hunter Valley Operations.
The ongoing effect of this opportunity for MC Quality is now being able to provide support to companies in the area of welding supervision and quality control, which is a very needed service in Australia due to the limited number of skilled welders.

If MC Quality did not have our base line works at HVO it would be very difficult to maintain our workforce and continue to grow the local community and capability for the greater good of structural welding in Australia.

MC Quality has also now leveraged from the Hunter Valley Operations Support and opened an office in Mackay to support HVO sister sites in QLD and again employ local people and grow the community capability and employment.

In addition to the opportunities which HVO provides to MC Quality, I am a local person who lives in Singleton, and have seen the flow on effect in the community with HVO employees being local citizens and spending money at local shops and speciality stores. I support the HVO project for the long term gain of the Hunter Valley community and the benefits it brings to all areas of the economy.

HVO is a major contributor to the hunter valley economy as one of the largest coal mines in the valley, we employee over 1500 members of the local community & as coal mining leases end it is important to manage the integration of new industries for the hunter valley along with the existing mines.
There is room for both in the coming years.

I support the project because it provides jobs for locals and people from other communities. The projects helps families support their well being through jobs, supporting local companies that provide jobs. The projects contributes a lot of tax to the government

We are a 4th generation earthmoving company that employs 85 people with half of them working at HVO Mine.
We have worked there for over 20 years & would like to for another 20 if possible.
Without mining in the Hunter there would be an enormous amount of families, business's, sporting clubs & charities that would not receive the financial support that these business give so generously
