Ŵe do not need wind farms, we need to use the natural gas and oil that we have. Oil is not a fossil fuel. Stop corporations from taking away our resources.

Wind turbines are turning our country into an industrial wasteland. They are not efficient and effective to supply reliable power. I object to Australia being further polluted in this way.

This project will have a negative impact on the whole area of Oberon. Oberon is a farming and forest area with many wanting to live in this council area not being an industrial landscape.
The disruption to locals lives will be massive as we witnessed in Taralga.

• We run a livestock and a wedding business that brings employment and income to Oberon.
• We believe building a large wind farm will have a serious impact on the general amenity of the Oberon area, particularly visual, noise and traffic amenity.
• The construction process will be damaging to the environment and natural beauty of Oberon
• The construction process will increase traffic movements and limit the access required for our day to day business operations
• The final wind farm will be especially damaging to the environment and natural beauty of Oberon.
• The final wind farm will increase the risk of bushfires and the potential of loss of livestock and thus revenue
• We are very concerned this will impact our wedding business and our numerous employees and their young families.
• We are very concerned about the reduction in tourism in the area and the overall attractiveness of Oberon as a lifestyle and wedding destination within proximity to Sydney.

Seriously concerned about NEGATIVE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT of Paling Yards Wind Farm and others proposed for Oberon Plateau. Due to limited life of the towers the energy generated will be less than the energy they consume in their manufacture, installation and maintenance. So they will ADD TO GLOBAL EMISSIONS. The towers are known to be flammable and they will be located in the highly flammable environment of the pine forests but their excessive 240-metre height and density will result in a no-fly zone making fires impossible to fight. Loss of timber resources and unacceptable hazard to surrounding land and community. Highly negative impact on roads and traffic movements - and no net gain to local community - or indeed to global emissions. Horrible noise and visual impact. Long term legacy of massive concrete pads left in the ground and non-recylable components in the landfill. ENERGY COMPANIES THE ONLY BENEFICIARY. Yes we need renewable but this is worse than the present regime. Back to the drawing board.

As a local resident and business owner I am strongly opposed to the Paling Yards Project.
As I understand the situation, the Paling Yards Wind Farm that is proposed for our area has faced opposition from locals and environmental groups. From information I have read and heard, here are some of the key reasons why, in my opinion, the project should not proceed.

Environmental impacts:
The wind farm site is located near bat colonies and bird migration routes. The turbines pose a collision risk and could disrupt local ecosystems. There are concerns about impacts on threatened species in the area.
Construction of the wind farm will involve clearing large areas of native vegetation. This could destroy habitat and reduce biodiversity in the region.

Noise pollution:
Wind turbines generate noise from the rotor blades. This can be disturbing for nearby residents, especially at night. Noise modeling suggests the Paling Yards turbines may exceed acceptable noise limits for some homes.

Visual impacts:
The wind farm will be highly visible from surrounding areas. The turbines are very large structures that will affect the scenic landscape and rural views. This goes against the local community's wishes to preserve the natural beauty of the region and I believe will significantly affect tourism in the area.

Lack of local support:
There has been little consultation with the local community about the wind farm plans. Surveys show most residents living near the site oppose the development. Our concerns about impacts have not been adequately addressed.

Overall, the Paling Yards Wind Farm appears to be a poor proposal for the site. The environmental and community impacts outweigh the potential benefits. More suitable renewable energy projects should be explored by the NSW Government. Projects that have local support and less detrimental impacts.

I wish to strongly support this proposal, as we must move rapidly to clean energy.
I have previously driven in areas where these, and other even larger loads are transported, and blades certainly cause less inconvenience than 8 metre wide mining equipment loads, where oncoming traffic has to completely leave the road surface.
Oberon also needs the employment these will provide.
Given the significant distance they are from towns, and from a certain private "garden", I do not see them having significant visual impact.
Finally, it is highly ironic that a group of noisy people want a "Voice" over this, when they voted 82% against others having a voice on their future.

I OBJECT & DO NOT CONSENT TO 47 OBNOXIOUS WIND TURBINE MONSTROSITIES WRECKING OBERON & AUSTRALIA - AS PART OF THE TOTALLY DODGY PALINGS YARD WIND ELECTRICITY GENERATING WORKS & ASSOCIATED INFRASTRUCTURE PLAN.

It is unconscionable that the Australian Public is being ripped-off by selfish, greedy Hosts, extremely stupid Policy Makers & deceitful Approving Bodies - forcing us to subsidise such inferior, ecocidal rubbish & to pay outrageous, ever increasing electricity prices for PATHETIC, WEATHER DEPENDENT, POWER POVERTY!

THE PUBLIC HEALTH & SAFETY RISKS OF THE FAKE GREEN RENEWABULL SOLAR/WIND ENERGY POVERTY GRIFT & PONZI SCHEME/SCAM ARE GLARINGLY OBVIOUS, WITH NSW DPE FORCING THEIR RISKY APPROVALS - ie. MORAL HAZARD - ONTO OBJECTING COMMUNITIES WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT.

It is unacceptably cruel that people - including little children are being constantly tortured by Wind Turbine noise - forced to wear ear muffs to bed! What about the detrimental impacts of the noise, the infrasound & EMF/EMR for our babies?
Whoever is Planning, Approving & Hosting these damaging machines should be facing criminal assault charges!

Even worse is the toxic Bisphenol A (lethal to young children & as toxic as blue asbestos) shedding from Wind Turbine Blades into the air, over the land & water. These toxic micro-plastics are endocrine disrupters - an extremely serious health hazard - which is intentionally being ignored by the NSW State & Federal Government.
Additionally, with the unjust, irresponsible lack of Due Diligence - Failure in Duty of Care regarding all
of these detrimental impacts & the obvious FIRE RISKS for this Palings Yard Wind Electricity Generating Works EXPERIMENT - INDUSTRIAL MANSLAUGHTER CHARGES WILL INEVITABLY RESULT!

Australia would benefit greatly from the return of Dr Yang in exchange for our delusional, Fake Green
Leader & his dodgy CCP controlling Turbines!

I object to the Paling Yards development as it will cause the industrialization of the rural environment. Also, I object the adjustment or demolition of the trees along The Avenue at Oconnel. The trees that make up the Avenue are a war memorial dating back to WW1

I believe that because of their gigantic size and horrendous appearance the proposed wind turbines would be visually appalling. They would turn the existing natural landscape into an eyesore and would undoubtedly ruin the value of all properties in the district.

I am a occasional visitor to the Oberon region and have been alerted to the Paling Yards project by the OAWT Group pamphlets.
The alarmist material put out by this group is quiet misleading re the projects effects on the region. This comment is based on my
observations of the construction and implementation of other wind farms near Collector,Lake George,Tarago,Crookwell and the construction activity of Snowy 2 on the Cooma region.
1 The above mentioned towns are coexisting with wind farms either visible to their inhabitants or located in their region.
For instance as a frequent visitor to the village of Collector where many wind towers both near and far are very visible to many of
Collectors'residents the population though initially split has adjusted to the new reality and many,I am told, support the wind farms
because of the need to reduce CO2 emissions.Additionally when I am driving past Lake George passengers are not bothered by the
sight of wind towers on the opposite shore of the lake and are actually interested to see if the turbines are rotating.
2 The residents of Cooma are experiencing the frequent passage of large trucks carrying Snowy 2 components. The town is experiencing renewed economic well being claims due to construction activity and definitely has not resulted in Cooma' demise as the OAWT claims will happen to Oberon if the wind farms proposed for the area are approved.
3 This project is located a significant distance from Oberon and will only be visible to road users and the scattered inhabitants near the Abercrombie region.Claims that the towers will spoil the rural ambience of the area, are inherently ugly and will deter tourism are
blind to the inherent ugliness of the moonscape that recently felled pine plantations present to the eye throughout the district.
4 It is acknowledged that there will be short term disruption to the residents of Oberon due to the passage of trucks through the town: however the economic activity generated by the Paling Yards project should prove appealing to the many businesses in the town.
5 The projects contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions should more than offset the impact the project will have on the farming land on which it intends to be located.
6 The proponents of the project should do all they can to reassure the locals that they will do their best to ameliorate their concerns through meaningful consulation and adjusting their proposal where undue impact may be experienced.

Oberon is a tourist, forestry and agricultural hub. I object to the destruction of prime agricultural land. I object to the destruction of heritage items and roads in order to transport the infrastructure and materials to the site. I object to the poles and wires and all other infrastructure that will have to be installed to carry the power to the grid. I object to poles and wires intruding on prime agricultural land to the detriment of the farmers. I object in general that this project will be an intrusion on my peace and quiet and lifestyle. I object on the basis that this project may affect my assets and cause me anxiety. I object to the visual destruction of the landscape. I object on the basis that Oberon has been successfully building tourism for years and the visual pollution will destroy the hard work of the local residents.

These wind towers will destroy our area. People flock to Oberon to experience the peace and natural beauty of the region as a way of escaping the city and this wind tower project will mean that our area will no longer fulfill that chance to escape. The views will be destroyed forever and there is not enough evidence to suggest that the pros outweigh the cons when it comes to how this will affect our environment. Not to mention the effect it will have on land prices in the area. We do not want these wind towers in our area!

1.BUSHFIRE THREAT. See 2 attachments on wind turbine fires this year. Proposed project abutts Abercrombie River national Park adding to threat as park is rough terrain. Fire would block the only main road in the region. Limited Aerial attack of fires due to CASA rules on visual flight and location of proposed towers. Traditional fire fighting methods cannot be utilised as no ladders high enough to extinguish the turbine fire at 240 meters. Grass fires are a magor threat in our area. The Green Wattle Creek fire of 2019/2020 affected 5 LGAs, 37 homes were lost, 278,200HA burnt and only extiguished by rain in February 20. This fire came within 6klms of our home and demonstrates how difficult is is to fight a fire in this area. March 16th 2023 Curraweela grass fire burned 4437HA started by truck driving in long grass. 200 head stock lost, 1 home lost , many outbuildings lost & damage to 3 Homes.
Reason one as to why this project should not proceed.
2. NATIVE WILDLIFE. This region is abundant in native animals especially an increase in bird life after the devistaing 2019/2020 bushfires. I have personally seen an increase on my land of bird life. This region also has the Gang Gang Cockatoo, which is protected under the Vulnerable Species Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016, making it a Teir 1 Crime to damage their habitat. In July 2021, the Department of Enviornment and Energy stated there has been a decrease of 61% in the last 3 generations (21 years), in particular the effect of the 2019/20120 bushfire season. I have seen and photographed this bird on my land over the 15 years I have lived here. I can supply photos is required. We also have an emu colony within the Abercrombie River NP. My property in conjunction with Wires is proactivly assisting in thge mange problem in Wombats on my land. We have several pairs of Wedge Tailed Eagles on my land and the NP as well. Koalas, Platypus, many birds, Kangaroos, Wallabies & my Neighbour has a animal rescue and release program as well. Michael Shellenberger and acomplished journalist has written extensivly on the effect of wind turbines noise and emissions within the oceans and the effect on marine life, in particular whales and dolphins. I relate this to the bird migrations in our area and how that will affect them.
3. ROAD TRAFFIC. The proposed plan states the road disruption, upgrades and visual scarring will take 22 months and involve major impacts on O'Connel Road at the least lopping and possible removing the over 100 year old treel on the Avenue planted in memorium for the fallen soldgers of WW1. This is in total disrespect for our past and memories of that tragedy. The road then climbs steeply onto the Oberon Plateau. This winding road would have to undergo drastic changes to accomidate the turbines thus blocking and delaying Oberon residents travel to Bathurst, not to mention the major upgrades needed at the roundabout at Kelso.
4. VISUAL AMENITY. I built here 15 years ago because of the visual and natural beauty of the area, I built off grid, low carbon footprint as my property adjoins the Abercrombie River National Park. The area has in the most part unchanged over the years, the only additions being more residents who moved for the same reasons. This propoasal will disrupt the natural landscape qualities of this unique area. These turbines do not visually alighn with nature. The visual photomontages displayed by the project organisors to show what the impact would look like is unrealistic and does not convey how these 47 turbines will dominate the landscape. I have seen wind turbines up close at Taralga and Crookwell and as a reasonable person can attest that these 47 turbines will DOMINATE the landscape and scar it.
5. PROPERTY VALUATION. This proposal will cause property prices to drop within our area, who wants to live under or near wind turbines? Answer is no one. Logic dictates prices would drop , a study in the UK showed prices dropped a wopping 13% if within 2klms and 3% if within 5klms (which my home does). I ask who will pay the difference of that 3% if i want to sell, The Spanish wind farm company, the NSW Government? Of course no one would and I would suffer financial loss in that scenario.
In summing up, I catagorigly object to this project & speak not just for myself but for all those native animals including the endangered species that have no voice!

The construction and operation of the wind turbines will disrupt local ecosystems and habitats of the Paling Yards region. The proposed wind towers require clearing land for turbine placement, roads, and infrastructure, which can affect endangered animals in the area. Some endangered animals include the wallaby, bird, possum and wombat.

Moreover, given that Paling Yards region includes valuable and productive agricultural land, notable for its sheep and cattle, the wind turbines will reduce property values, which will be a concern for all landowners in the vicinity of wind farms.

Critical thinking people a very well aware and have done their due diligence in relation to this subject full well knowing that it is nothing but a waste of money and that wind farms are far from being any form of “green” energy sauce, in actual fact they are the complete opposite!
