Mt Pleasant mine modification approval is vital to the growth of our business for the next 10 years. Pirtek Muswellbrook has been a part of the mining industry for the past 30 years and the continual growth from Mt Pleasant will able business to expand and the town grow.

I object to this proposal. There have been other large mining construction works undertaken in the immediate area since this mine was originally approved.
It should not be looked at as merely an extension but needs to be taken in context, and the cumulative effect of this and the other adjacent mines considered.

There is growing disquiet in Muswellbrook about the impact of mining. Particularly issue around air pollution and particulates. Because the town is surrounded this negative impact has become more of a concern, even to those whose livelihoods depend on the mines.

The air pollution and the noise are both taking their toll on the local community and other industries such as the thoroughbred breeding industry and those farms that remain. The viability of both is threatened. And this mine extension needs to consider the cumulative impact on the social and economic sustainability of the area, as well as the health and well-being of the residents.

Other mines in the area were approved on the basis that the Mt Pleasant mine would close in 2020. if this mine is extended, then those approvals should be revisited. Alternatively a proper, adequate Environmental and Social Impact Statement should be prepared for the Mt Pleasant mine, which no doubt intends to apply for another extension in due course.

I would support MACHEnergy in it submission to extend it's operation out to 2026 and increase it workforce. Having live in the town of Muswellbrook all my life and operating a small business in the township, I feel the job opportunities that a project like Mt Pleasant offers as vital to the well being of our economy. We have seen the decay in business confidence over the past 3-4 yrs which has been directly linked to the down in the coal industry. The injection of new jobs and the associated increase in business in the town can only help see our local economy improve. Real Estate Prices have shrunk by over 20% in the past 3 yrs and it is these types of project an security in employment that will help the market recover. The Opportunity given to the community by MACHEnergy will help somewhat reverse the loss of over 500 jobs from the Drayton closure, and restore some employment balance and job security to the Upper Hunter.

The Muswellbrook RSL Club supports the Mount Pleasant Coal Mine Modification 3.As a not for profit organisation continued growth in the local economy from Mining activities helps our Club to increase revenue which is put back into our Members facilities and the community.
Our Club provides financial support to a number of local charity, sporting and community groups and this can only maintained by the ongoing growth from mining.
Any mining expansion activity flows through our business within the Muswellbrook RSL Club and the Centabrook Motor Inn which the Club owns.

I fully support the application to expand the Mt Pleasant Operation primarily because it will provide additional income to the district as well as employment opportunities for a broad demographic.
I am of the view that the MACH Energy team are trying to break the traditional coal miner mold and are absolutely commited to the local community such that Mt Pleasant Mine is held in high regard.
With strict compliance to the licence conditions the material impact on the environment will be negligible.

I wish to support Mach Energy's DA 92/97 MOD 3 application.
This project provides my company with employment during the life of the mine, which is surely needed and appreciated. Without MACH's extension my company and many other contractors would be disadvantaged.
I own and manage Chelace GIS Pty Ltd which is a small company that provides land management and mapping expertise to the mining industry. Currently I have 2 employees working on the MACH project in varying capacities and reasonably expect that as the mine progress's our work load / manning for the project will increase. We live in the Lower Hunter. The proposed land form design improvements I believe will be a major benefit to the surrounding land owners and the township of Muswellbrook.

I fully support the continued development of the Mount Pleasant Mine.
The mine will provide employment opportunities for many many people over the mines life and provide an ongoing economic benefit to the Muswellbrook and nearby communities.
The mine is located in a well established mining area and with good management will have no adverse impact to the local area.

Mach Energy's ACDF Fund support the running of St Heliers Correctional Centres Gundi Program. Gundi is a program for Aboriginal Inmates and is designed to up skill these inmates and transition them into employment opportunities on release. Mach Energy have been extremely important in the success of this program as they don't just contribute financially but also in terms of employment opportunities and personal mentoring to our participants. Inmates confidence and motivation has increased greatly due to Mach Energy's ability to show these inmates that they can and will get great employment opportunities on release. Mach Energy have already changed the lives of two Inmates in the short time that they have been in the Muswellbrook Area and plan to change many more.

MACH Energy's Mt Pleasant Mine has given the community and various businesses the boost this region has been waiting for. After the recent mining down turn, there has been a flat feeling around Muswellbrook. The commencement of Mt Pleasant Mine has re-ignited a spark in the area with positive comments about the project being heard throughout town.

Mt Pleasant is supporting our business by contracting 2-4 of our local surveyors with constant work around site.

FYFE supports MACH Energy's proposed modification.

We run a small business in Singleton and know that mining drives the economy in Singleton and Musswellbrook. If a business is going to employ 330 people and spend millions in the local economy in a safe and controlled way I am all for it. Our business will do well for it.
