I object to this project purely on the basis they’ve removed the ice rink. Sydney has been decimated from ice rinks being removed and replaced with apartment buildings.

Ice sports have a large community in Sydney and we should support that community by providing arenas for the community.

The ice rink was detrimental to the winter sports community in western Sydney and with the removal of it, it has caused major damage to ice rink sports in NSW as a whole
Penrith Ice Palace closed down leaving us with nothing and large amounts of media and marketing used to push this project forward was for the ice rink inclusion, making us feel like we have been lied to
Ontop of this the location this is being built upon is already struggling traffic wise and will be completely ruining the everyday lives of the locals within the area
This facility needs to be moved to a more secure location where the ice rink can be approved and it won’t impact the local residents
I can guarantee I won’t be the only one discussing this

Good afternoon, Tahlia,

Further to my voicemail, Disabled Wintersport Australia wishes to express its support for the proposed Winter Sports World development.

We had understood the closing for submissions to be on Friday, thus unfortunately missed the cut off. I attach our letter of support, and respectfully request that this be included with submissions, for consideration. This facility will allow DWA the opportunity to develop and then activate a world first, year-round indoor adaptive snowsport program for people with disability, within Sydney’s greater west. Further details are in our attached letter of support.

I am happy to be contacted should you wish to discuss this further and thanks in advance for your consideration.

Regards

Jenni
