Hi,
My husband and I as residents in the Millennium Towers on Day St side
would like to object to the extended operating hours. We are entitled
to our sleep and we are entitled to have 8 hours sleep. Sleep
deprivation is serious and can lead to all sorts of health issues
including depression, anxiety, deterioration in cognitive behaviour,
memory and reaction time reduction etc
National Sleep Foundation Recommends New Sleep Times
https://sleepfoundation.org/.../national-sleep-foundation-recommends-new-sleep-times
Teenagers (14-17): Sleep range widened by one hour to 8-10 hours
(previously it was 8.5-9.5) Younger adults (18-25): Sleep range is 7-9
hours (new age category) Adults (26-64): Sleep range did not change
and remains 7-9 hours. Older adults (65+): Sleep range is 7-8 hours
(new age category)
Besides the noise the worksite flood lights shine through the bedroom
also decreasing the ability to sleep.
If wanted I could supply many more papers and evidence on this topic.
Our work requires us to be mentally acute and ofcourse driving
requires our reactiontime to be optimen.
Thanks for your consideration

There does not seem to be valid reasoning for extending hours of works.
My sleep is paramount to my health and well being. Even short term
sleep deprivation reduces reflexes, mental accuity, changes moods for
the worse and also affects memory etc.
Both lights and noise from the worksite would be of issue..
The original planning should have included the normal work hours in
the price. There have been no reasons stated for the extension of
hours. If they are falling behind as the reason, my sleep should not
have to suffer for it. They should have worked it into their quote.
I am sorry but I would hope that the council would not condone this
sleep deprivation for sake of a large company requesting it.

We have received several complaints from people unable to sleep when the
overnight roadworks were on and they have stated emphatically that
they do not wish to be sleep deprived with this proposal. There seems
to be no need to extend hours already approved. The lights from the
worksite are another concern that theowners have since the lights are
quite bright and the crane lights are also disturbing peoples sleep
patterns. This residential building was here when the builders quoted
to do the job and so should have taken into account that there work
timewould ofcourse not be 24hours. People are entitled to have 8 hours
sleep.. If evidence is required on number of hours required and the
effects from even short term sleep deprivation are I as a member ofthe
Committee would be pleased to supply them.
