my husband and I object strongly to this development. Bigger tower,
blades and motors will just make the noise more unbearable and the
closest tower to our property is just 1.4k's from us . There is no way
we won't see the majority of the turbines and despite the promise of
trees to be planted to ease the view that is very stupid. Unless the
trees being planted are to be as high as the turbines no-one living
today will be alive to see the trees grow to any height for offer a
buffer zone.
Are you aware that Cadia is built on a quake zone and just recently we
had an earthqquake of 3.5 on the Richter scale, one of many that have
occurred in the last two years.
Don't you feel this may be just one reason to disallow this project.
Also there is a gas pipe line in this area that SHOULD be considered.
How many modifications are Infigen allowed to submit? It appears that
they can just go on until the project is eventually approved. I notice
there is never any talk of a wind farm in the cities. If they are so
good why not!!!!!
Please give this modification a lot of thought before you approve it.
Remember just because we live in the country and farm we still have an
opinion and we are entitled to be heard and not treated like idiots.
Many people in this area are against the wind farm and have been from
day one.
Can you guarantee our land values won't drop if this goes ahead. It
appears the views of a few are listened too when the majority will be
affected in one way or another. Say NO to this modification and any
others submitted by Infigen.

The Flyers Creek Wind Farm modification to increase the size of the
turbine height from 150m to 160m and to increase the length of the
blades from 56m to 70m will have adverse effects on nearby residents
and therefore a new EIS is needed.
The original specifications contained on the original approval are now
out of date and out of context to the impacts that would be suffered
by the local community. The proposal must be rejected on these
grounds.

I object to the Flyers Creek Wind Farm amendment proposal to increase the
diameter and height of the wind turbines after they have had initial
approval is ridiculous and should be rejected and sent back for new
EIS and Planning Approval.
If not, there is a precedent that it is possible to apply for the
minimum size wind turbine and then simply amend it to the maximum at
any time.
Therefore this modification should be rejected.

I object to this wind farm modification on the grounds that it will
affect too many neighbouring non-hosting households.
As a member of a family currently living within close proximity of a
wind farm.
Noise and visual aspects, as well as environmental concerns and the
inability to sell an affected property are all points of concern and
should be considered before allowing any modifications to both the
turbine height and blade length.
This proposal should be rejected.

I object to the Modifications to the Flyers Creek Wind Farm as wind farms
are not fully understood and the ramifications of allowing wind farm
proponents to alter the original application once approved may be
detrimental to the local community.

I object to this modification to the Flyers Creek Wind Farm on the
grounds that all of these changes should have been part of the
original application to which the community could have addressed.
Therefore a new EIS and DA should be needed and this modification
should be rejected.

We are still extremely concerned about the 33 kV power lines taking the
power from the Infrigen Turbines to their Substation and the 132 kV
lines all on the sides of the narrow roads in the Errowanbang/Flyers
Creek district will be extremely intrusive criss crossing the
district..
The roads in the Errowanbang/Flyers Creek area are very windey and
narrow even though hey are being upgraded. We feel the 33 kV and 132
kV lines easements will not be met within the road boundaries and are
a danger to the amount of traffic, Trucks to C.T.L.X. Carcoar and the
mine workers vehicles to Cadia Gold Mine which have all increased over
the last 10 years and is likely to increase more in the future once
the new road through to Orange is bitumened and established as a new
direct corridor to the South without diverting through Blayney.
How can a project like this be approved without a definite Safe plan
to take the power away to the Grid.
We refer to a letter from Infrigen Energy to Blayney Shire Council,
9th June, 2015. Where it refers to a power line along the side of the
road. If this is the method to be used now, I would like to point out
that you will be taking a high voltage power line Through a pine
forest, Not the edge of (4.2 page 6 last paragraph) State Forest
coniferous plantation, with trees taller than the power poles.
I would like to point out, this is a very dangerous exercise, the
forest goes from Errowangang/Flyers Creek to Mt Canobolas, covering
many thousands of hectares and if with our present weather conditions
we had a fire from trees falling onto the power lines, it would be
explosive.
I have driven this road many times over the last 10 plus years and
seen the number of trees that have fallen over onto the road from wind
storms and with a domino effect from within the forest. With the
understory of dried debris, huge blackberry bushes and weeds, a
bushfire could start with trees hitting the power lines and sparks
flying around. It is a real concern!
I would also like to mention our concerns re Value of Property. - Our
property is bordered by Cadia Gold Mine to the North and West and
properties adjoining to the East with Turbines from Infrigen Energy.
We feel our situation is definitely one which will devalue our
property Value.
Our final concern is with modern Fire Fighting Techniques, with a Wind
Farm next door with such huge turbines. We will be unable to use
Aircraft to quelch fires on the majority of our property.

Flyers Creek Wind Farm Mod 4 Submission

As a resident of Orange who is proud to call this district home I must
object in the strongest terms to the Flyers Creek Wind Farm and the
associated power lines as detailed in Modification 4.

The Flyers Creek valley is one of the more outstandingly beautiful
landscapes in the Central West. It was originally chosen by the
explorer William Lawson's son for the location of his homestead at
Errowanbang. This wind farm sits on the hills opposite this Homestead
and Woolshed that has been recognised by the NSW Government Office of
Environment and Heritage as having Historical Significance.

There is not a more pleasant and picturesque drive in the Orange
district than to travel through the Flyers Creek valley to historic
Carcoar. It is used by tourists and locals alike. This route is also
included on the Orange City Council bike riding guide and is used very
often. When showing visitors to the Orange district around this area
they all comment on the scenic hills and valleys. With the recently
completed upgrade to the Errowanbang Road the use of this tourist
route will only increase.

This Modification 4 now increases the height of the wind turbines and
adds the previously omitted power transmission lines. The addition of
the extra tall wind turbines and the previously omitted ugly power
transmission lines along the Errowanbang, Panuara and Cadia Roads will
be a blight on this stunningly beautiful area. To me this seems like
approval by stealth. First get your wind farm approved then add the
transmission lines later.

The timing of this wind farm modification lacks forethought and must
be condemned. We are in the midst of a substantial drought that is
causing farmers in this area a great amount of heartache and stress.
They now have to deal with the added burden of this wind farm
application being brought upon them again.

All wind farm applications have drawn an adverse response from nearby
landholders, residents and in some cases Members of Parliament.
Joe Hockey made comments in Parliament regarding the wind farm near
Lake George:
"If I can be a little indulgent please, I drive to Canberra to go to
Parliament, I drive myself and I must say I find those wind turbines
around Lake George to be utterly offensive," he said.
"I think they're just a blight on the landscape."
The Lake George wind farm falls in the electorate of Hume, which is
represented by the Liberal MP Angus Taylor. He has told the ABC he
does not support wind farms either but for different reasons:
"The economics don't work. Right now wind requires massive subsidies
over and above other means of reducing carbon emissions," he told the
ABC.
"This is not about their appearance; this about their cost and we all
pay."

It is time to see sense. There are other methods to generate
sustainable, carbon reducing power. Since the original application for
Flyers Creek Wind Farm the use of solar both large scale and small has
increased significantly. We also have the Federal Government putting
forward the Snowy Scheme 2.0 for storage of excess power. All these
schemes have a less visual impact on the landscape and therefore less
adverse comments and more acceptance by the general public.

The Flyers Creek Wind Farm Modification 4 must be rejected due to this
type of energy production being outdated and costly to Tax Payers plus
its added visual impact from increased wind turbine heights and the
many kilometres of ugly power lines that this modification introduces.

The Flyers Creek area must be left as it is today, a quiet picturesque
valley for residents and visitors alike. The natural beauty of this
area that has been enjoyed by past generations must be kept for the
current and future generations as well.

Sincerely
John Moss

I object to the application by Infigen for the modification (4) to Flyers

impacts involving other industrial developments adjacent to the
proposed wind farm to be inadequate.

I object to the mod 4 for FCWF.
I grew up in the district and find the concept of a wind farm in the
district with so many farming families, and retired and lifestyle
residents inappropriate. The fact that Infigen seeks to increase the
size of these wind turbines should not be supported.

I wish to lodge an OBJECTION to Flyers Creek Wind Farm Modification 4.

Our family home in the area will be like many others impacted by the
wind farm, especially visually as it sits on the top of a hill facing
direct into the proposed turbines. Already our home is impacted by low
frequency noise from the mine and further impacts would see our
lifestyle dimished greatly. Whilst we live in the city during the week
for work our escape is going home to a beautiful area now to be
further impacted by industrialisation of enormouse proportions and for
whose benefit? Certainly not the people who live or enjoy the area.

I am writing this submission on behalf of the Environmentally Concerned
Citizens of Orange. Our organisation is supportive of all forms of
alternative energy . We have supported the development of the Flyers
Creek Windfarm for many years, having met with representatives of the
proponents for the project on several occasions and have spoken in
support of the windfarm at a past PAC meeting in Blayney several years
ago. We are most concerned about how long this project has taken, and
the many obstacles which have been paced in its way. ECCO would like
to give the construction of the windfarm our wholehearted support .
