Reclassification and rezoning of part of Boomerang Park, Raymond Terrace

Port Stephens

The planning proposal seeks to reclassify and rezone a 4.5 hectare part of Boomerang Park at Raymond Terrace. The proposed reclassification would change the classification of the land under the Local Government Act 1993 from community land to operational land. The proposed rezoning would change the current RE1 Public Recreation zone to R2 Low Density Residential in the Port Stephens LEP 2013.Council has resolved, despite the uses permissible in the R2 zone, to limit the potential redevelopment of the site to seniors housing.
