Hi , I own a company operating out of Jedda Road Prestons. The increase in truck traffic on Jedda Road is a concern to me.
I have questions only at this stage. I am not sure how you expect anyone to form a 'view' on the project without all the project information.
For now I 'object'.
Please tell me 1. the expected number of truck movements into and out of the facility and their expected routes into and out of Jedda Road.
2 . the operation hours of the facility
3. the size/ configuration of these trucks
Details of proposed changes to Jedda Road in terms of active lanes and parking lanes.

thankyou , regards,
Trevor Campbell

As I'm the owner of unit 1, 25-27 Whyalla Place Preston's which will be the unit next door to the proposed waste plant, my concerns regarding the leaching airborne waste contaminates & other undisclosed & real time odors that will enter in my building as the concrete panels when originally erected are a butt joint. And as it stands we currently can feel air through the joints & in heavy rain water dose seep though.
The other major concern is, in my opinion the forecast traffic prediction is incorrect, the street currently can not support any extra parking or traffic flow during business hours & knowing the weight of the truck & trailer will immediately damaged the already pot hole riddled street also if they can not get into the plant will have to line up until there given clearance to enter which will add extra congestion to the street causing further traffic incidents. My other question is that if the staff/employees or drivers whether they are part of the company or subcontractors that need to enter & unloading waste & are required to wear PPE then that will be a major problem if it can not be contained. Finally having a treatment waste plant & especially the size that the proposal intends to build will decrease the value of the area.

I object to the application due the excess in large truck traffic. The intersection of Jedda road & Whyalla place is already a hazard without the extra load of trucks a waste facility will bring. There is also the added pollution and noise the facility will bring to the area which is already high due to the concrete and asphalt plants in the area.

We object to the potential OH&S issues arising from waste dislodging from deliveries, the potential air quality as a result of the treatment facility processes, stormwater run off, the odor that is potentially contributable to these contaminated products, the risk of any spillage and the general health and wellbeing of the public.

We also object to the protentional storm water run off and in particular how it will impact the environment as we have an open drainage system leading out of the Prestons area to wet lands leading into the Georges river catchment.

We feel that this sort of treatment facility should be removed from the general populated area and relocated to a rural setting away from the city where all the proper treatment facilities can be accommodated without impacting as many business'

Major concerns for this project include:
* Traffic in the area is already busy, increased heavy traffic would be impactful as our facility has rear gate that opens onto Whyalla Place
* We have environmental concerns, what measures will be in place to ensure waterways and drains are protected? With this facility being in a high flood area, We fear the impact of a 1 in 100year flood event potentially contaminating our site
* Health and Safety of the surrounding businesses must addressed with the possibility of airborne material contaminating our site, with both air particles and particles settling onto our printed material, we have concerns that the quality of our work will be impacted due to this facility being developed in that location

As receiving the notification letter yesterday, merely addressed to 'The Resident/Occupier, and as sorted in the mail, we wish to object very strongly to any contaminated soils, contaminated sludges and liquid waste facility at 9-11 Whyalla Place, Prestons.
As long term tenants of the adjoining property, of 23 Ash Rd, Prestons, having some 50 people in daily attendance, and being only about 10 metres behind the subject contaminated waste facility, the prospect of the pollution, odour and danger to human occupancy is simply unnecessary and unacceptable.
the processes of treating, storing and trans shipping such materials in close proximity to hundreds and even thousands of people needs much greater accountability and protection, than a limited advice without public consultation.
we are concerned as to how such a proposal can be passed through the approval process without the rigour of the due care that the government instrumentalities would normally exercise in protection of the people and assets of Prestons, including the near proximity to residential, high density living.
we ask for further time and consideration, along with a full evaluation of the chemical risks of the raw contaminated materials, and the chemical treatments that are proposed, in breaking down the waste into the constituent parts.
The whole safety and amenity of the suburb would seem to be at risk with this proposal, and we register our objection and request for government accountability, in full in this matter.
