Message
Both Randwick and Bayside Councils (taking out National Parks and Centennial Park) have low vegetation coverage, with Bayside below Randwick. The 5ha vegetated flood detention basin at Southlands (McPherson Street) is important in the local region of North Botany Bay/South Ward for providing habitat particularly as the site adjoins the rail corridor. It also has air quality benefits for the people who work around the area. Additional warehousing space will add to the traffic congestion which is already a concern.

Ausgrid has underground cables buried along McPherson St hence suitable precautions should be adopted by the development regarding the construction and ongoing operation of the facility in the vicinity of these cables, in particular consideration for the entry driveway that will facilitate high volume of heavy traffic from McPherson St.
