I would like to object to this project as it will not replace the base load energy generating plants we have now, Coal Power. The technology is still not good enough to switch off these coal power station and replace them with this inferior method of power reliability. When will common sense override this blind rush to an unreliable, unsustainable and incapable way to store power.

An Australian Food Producer.

Firstly, there is no Climate emergency (Attachment #1) and no one has ever proven that human emissions of carbon dioxide drive global warming or climate change or climate emergency whatever banner the fear mongering nefarious politicians and global elites are using. NO ONE!!
This alone negates the need for highly toxic, environmentally destructive, uneconomical and, ultimately, useless battery storage systems.
The planet is cooling (attachment #5) and the need for cheap reliable and dispatchable energy will only increase. Wind, Solar and Battery installations will not provide for our needs now or ever!
The push towards Net zero will result in 43% (attachment #2) of arable lands being permanently destroyed by wind, solar and battery installations. This installation will contribute to the actual starvation of Australia!
The cost of such a folly is astronomical in dollar terms alone (attachments #3 & #4), let alone the cost to the environment and standard of living for all Australians.
The push towards net zero requires a 1000% increase in mining and heavy industry and there is not enough known resources to supply enough material to build these batteries (attachment #6).
It cost $150 million to give South Australia 4 minutes of supply using batteries. So it would cost $54,000 million to give South Australia 24hrs supply. It’s all a waste of time, money and a disgraceful stupidity enacted by governments and agencies that should know better and should actually be acting in our best interests not those of the Marxists in the UN and the large investment corporations such as Black Rock. (Attachment #7)
It is an obvious fact, easily concluded by some basic research, that this battery installation is a waste of time and money and an act of social and environmental terrorism.
It must not go ahead.

I object to the Orana BESS for the following reasons.

The planning authorities have failed to implement a bond system for the eventual decommissioning and site rehabilitation of renewable energy projects and associated infrastructure. Instead they are relying on guarantees given by the developers of these projects for this purpose. However, if the government is not prepared to underwrite these guarantees, it would indicate that the validity if these guarantees is questionable. As such these projects cannot be approved until this situation is resolved.

The original aim of the CWO-REZ was to provide transmission infrastructure to allow an addiional 3GW of renewable energy projects to be built in this region. This may have been acceptable, but the planning authorities have continually increased the size of this target. In doing so they have made a mockery of their own guidelines on the siting these projects; particually in relation to their cumulative impact. The building of the Orana BESS, as well as creating visual and environmental impacts per se, will facilitate even more renewable energy projects in the CWO-REZ and so should be rejected.

This is a formal protest against the installation of a Battery Energy Storage System and associated Infrastructure and Connection Work
In the Wellington Region. Some of my objections are as follows. 1) the aiding and abetting of support for Solar Industrial Complexes
on part of Australia's 4% of arable land is reprehensible and the Wellington Region must surely have had enough of these developments.
2)These developments are causing great dissension within the community with some landowners make make a fortune whilst their neighbours have to put up with the mess. 3) The installation of Nuclear Power will make most of this infrastructure obsolete.

I am just wondering when DPIE and the government in general is going to pay any credence to those of us who are being inundated by these renewable projects where we live, lets not forget these are all to secure false green energy for the cities and denser population sectors.
A few points I would like for you to ponder
- even if renewables were the way to go which I believe they are not, how about we have some ownership of them, every project I have looked at is foreign owned using Chinese slave labour imputs, we will end up being held to ransom by these foreign entities and that is rather scary
- if we are to believe the jargon coming from our supposed representatives in parliment we are heading for an 80% renewable platform, seeing as they only have a propensity to place these where there is easy access to a power grid of dubious capacity we then garner that most of the renewable projects will be placed where we live not where you policy makers live, that then entails if the maths is correct you will be covering approximately 43% of our best arable land with solar panels (I wont include turbines here as you seem to have a want of putting them on any hill of significance right in the flight path zone of our beautiful bird life). So when I have brought this issue up before of where do you expect our food to come from moving forward considering you have littered the arable landscape with solar plants (dont get me started on the solar farm rubbish, purely a term to help with brainwashing city folk and allow easier approval processes) , to have politicians and rewenable supporters tell us that we can get our food from overseas, wrong and think again, Australia's agricultural sector is the 12th biggest exporter of agricultural products in the world and two thirds of our annual agricultural production is exported (ABARES 2018), so what does that tell you, the world in many sectors cant feed itself so we assist with that, how on earth do you expect to feed ourselves let alone the overpopulated places on earth that cant feed themselves that we currently feed, it is extraordinary how mind numbing this ideology is.
- the chasm in the city versus country saga is getting far wider than it has ever been in the past and lets not forget Glenn Platt's comment about how we should be honoured to help out our city cousins with their green energy, when ever have our city cousins given two hoots about where we live and offered any help, never would be the clear answer to that question.
- if there is such a driven energy in the cities for renewable energy then get inventive and find a way of placing renewable energy where you live and stop ruining our pristine environment to help you feel good about your environment
ENOUGH is ENOUGH

Whilst Australia is the sixth largest country in the world by land mass, we have some of the lowest arable food producing land per capita in the world. Example in 2020, arable land in Australia was 30,729, 200 hectares (307,292 sq kilometres) or 4% of Australia’s land mass.
Definition: Arable land includes land defined by the FAO as land under temporary crops (double-cropped areas are counted once), temporary meadows for mowing or for pasture, land under market or kitchen gardens, and land temporarily fallow. Land abandoned as a result of shifting cultivation is excluded.
For comparison, Australia world ranking for arable land in the world is number 145, Canada is 137, the USA is 56 and France is 25, with Bangladesh number one at 61.5% of its land mass and Kuwait, one of the lowest at number 185 of the 192 countries listed.

Regarding percentage of energy by solar
No production system of any type is 100% effective! The spread sheet has allowed for some losses but in reality, these production losses are much greater. Of course there are other sources of energy that I haven’t calculated into the spread sheet. The object of this information is to alert those that think, care and question, is that we have a finite amount of food producing land.
The purpose of this presentation is to show how much agricultural land will be lost for food production with the implementation of solar farms on this land and have not included the fallacy of wind generation.
The facts:
Substations are installed in high electrical consumption areas
Solar farms are installed near substations for cost effectiveness for the provider who is building these farms for one reason only: it is an excellent return on investments guaranteed by taxpayers who are not engineers and do not and should not have to be engineers as they elect governments to run the nation for them and trust the governments to explore pros and cons of all transactions big or small that affect the nation. This trust is being broken by a few misguided zealots!
High electrical consumption areas in rural Australia are located in the high agriculture food production areas, hence high populations.
High agricultural production areas have high fertility soils, therefore huge areas of prime ag land is lost and possibly contaminated forever, regardless of the renewable platitudes given.
Glossary:
% or energy by solar – No production system is 100% effective. Obviously there are other sources of energy that I haven’t calculated, but to show a result of solar alternatives. Eighty percent renewable appears to be the Holy Grail by the renewable religion; therefore I have chosen that figure as a constant for all initial calculations.
Avg annual solar hrs with tracker stm – all solar energy calculations use about 6 full sun hours per day as a base for full energy yield – add a tracking system, this adds about 20% to the 6 hr, = 7.23 hours
Current per solar panel watts Currently (this wattage is increasing all the time) about 400 watts each
Annual avg. non solar hours per day – remainder of hours without energy producing sun equals about 16.77 hours
Current module battery capacity in k/W - (this is increasing all the time) is 230 k/W (just found this battery module - Invinity VS3 Battery Module 230 kW – footprint - same as a shipping container – 6m x 2.5m
Solar Farm Footprint-ha per MW the amount of land based on a per megawatt figure (research indicates between 2 & 3 ha per MW – I chose 2.5 ha as a balance point
ha – abbreviation for hectare – a measurement for land area – one ha (100m x 100m) equals 10,000 sq metres – one million square metres (1000 x 1000) equals 100 ha or one square kilometre
kW - abbreviation for kilowatt = 1000 watts
MW - abbreviation for megawatt = 1,000,000 watts (1000 x1000 kW) (million)
GW - abbreviation for gigawatt = 1,000,000,000 watts (1000 x 1,000,000) (billion)
TW - abbreviation for terawatt = 1,000,000,000,000 (1,000,000 x 1,000,000) (trillion)
The terrible fact is that regardless of the renewable religion, this is a futile exercise as the whole concept of this type of renewable is impossible to achieve. It flies in the face of physics, which mankind for all of its achievements, cannot change as physics are unalterable laws!
The renewable zealots ignore the complex “road” of creating renewable energy and the ensuing cost to humankind. Beginning with the process of locating the mines, developing the mines, the high energy requirement of the manufacturing process, the hypocritical and questionable labor types being coerced for component production, the massive lost of food producing land, the transport factor that affects every aspect of creating the renewable generators as well as the end of life of components, all having in some way, non reversible environmental impacts Notwithstanding the reality, that a massive amount of the alternative components are produced elsewhere in the world, not here is Australia, so very little national benefit.
There winners with this process are some land holders, though at the expense of the nation and eventually the investors and manufactures, but in the not so long term, by its very nature, will fail.
Facts continued:
As explained in the introductory paragraph, The Global Economy organization states that Australia has 307,292 square kilometres of arable land or just over 4% of its total land mass. Eighty percent solar for the nation, requires almost half of that land.
For your own interest, enter your own figures in the red spread sheet cells to create different scenarios which also show the change affecting each state/territory,

I object to this project. Wind turbines create audible and inaudible noise that goes many kilometres. The EIS does address the impacts this will have on humans, surrounding towns, and animals.

I object to this battery storage system because the concept is both physically and economically flawed. It will never facilitate renewable energy being delivered to it for it to become despatachable. Battery storage is a total waste of money and is willfully promoting the destruction of the natural environment in the pursuit (mining) of the rare earth resources required in battery manufacture, in factories controlled by the CCP.
