On behalf of Eastbend Rural Communications Inc I wish to make the following submission re the above:
• Please note that the exhibition time of this modification being so close to Christmas has placed a huge constraint on the ability of the community to read the documents and comment.
• I received official notification only a few days ago and this was already into the exhibition time.
• I found it difficult to access the document on the planning portal.
• Given the very high biodiversity, unique sandstone ridge vegetation and down stream wetlands of the location of the proposed development modification, would you please explain any risks associated with the importation of 250,000 tonnes of material per annum.
• What regulations will be in place to ensure the imported material complies with the required standards of excavated material approved for use in the Quarry?
• The truck movements that will occur as a result of this modification are a potential problem on the sometimes narrow and winding roads around the Maroota area. Truck movements in general have been a long standing issue with the community in Maroota, Glenorie and Cattai.
We are making a comment. The reason Eastbend is making a comment is because of community interest in the Quarry Modification 6 (DA250-0901-Mod-6). Eastbend is a well known, long standing incorporated organisation that has had a long interest in the conservation values of and community interests in Maroota and surrounding districts.
