While I have known, and am pleased about the coming M1/M2 tunnel, as an important and welcome improvement in local infrastructure. We have arrived home after a six month stint in Germany xxxxxx to find that the government are planning to expose us to yet more carcinogens by planning to construct the tunnel ventilation stack without any filtration.xxxxxxxxx to know that xxxx our family not to mention our friends and neighbors will be unnecessarily exposed to known cancer causing agents; to think that they may suffer xxxxx this is completely unacceptable. I cannot even conceive of a 1st world country who would be so irresponsible as to allow such a dangerous proposal to proceed. For goodness sake, please let logic and common sense and at the very least engineering and medical science prevail in this instance and filter the emissions!

(Please note that my attachments in this submission come from documents I have copied from the SCAPS Concerned Resident Group Website. Because I completely agree with every aspect of their comprehensive submission documents, I have simply duplicated those submission documents and present them here as a reflection of my own thoughts.)

Please find attached my final submission document as I had one too many attachments to fit in my 1st submission.

With children who attend a primary school and live within the emissions fallout zone I feel compelled to submit an objection to the NorthConnex tunnel project in it's current format. Zero filtration on a 9km tunnel that will service more diesel emitting trucks than any other tunnel across Sydney, with only two ventilation shafts to concentrate all of those emissions over two tiny geographical locals of densely populated residential community is morally reprehensible and cannot be allowed to proceed!!! How can our trusted decision makers in this instance show such flagrant disregard for our health and welfare by knowingly exposing us to a Level 1 Human Carcinogen as recognised by the World Health Organisation? Is this the next James Hardie, Asbestos, health disaster about to be perpetrated against the communities surrounding the NorthConnex ventilation stacks? Please do the right thing and rethink filtration!

Since the documents on the SCAPS concerned resident website match precisely what I want to say I attached them as a reflection of my own thoughts.

Since the documents on the SCAPS concerned resident website match precisely what I want to say I attached them as a reflection of my own thoughts; in short:
1. Filter the emissions from the ventilation stacks.
2. Locate the Southern Ventilation in the most appropriate position..... the golf side of Pennant Hills rd, on land already owned by the RMS!
3. Seek a more viable alternative to using local residential streets (Aiken, Oakes, Eaton & Karloon rds) for heavy vehicle movements to remove tunnel spoil during the construction phase as your proposal will be unworkable both for the existing community as well for the NorthConnex Project, the streets are already gridlocked for much of the day, it is simply untenable!
