Please find attached my submission on the proposed North West Rail Line Project which was originally planned as a Heavy Rail project integrated with the CityRail network and has now been changed to a North West Metro Line instead. Metro style trains for northwest Sydney are unsuitable for the long travel distances to the CBD; double deck trains are required to provide the maximum number of seats.
The Metro proposal should therefore be abandoned in favour of a full heavy rail alternative with a double deck train service, integrated into the existing CityRail system. Please reply dealing with the issues raised in my submission.
Complete information on the methodology used to assess submissions made would be greatly appreciated to ensure full transparency for assessment of submissions. I would also like to know the number of submissions made.
