Minarah College

Catherine Fields and the surrounding suburbs are growing quite rapidly. There will be greater need for schools. Also there will be need for Islamic faith based schools in these suburbs. The proposed Islamic school will be a great advantage to the growing community around Catherine Fields suburbs. This campus will provide quality secular and religious education to the needs of the students.
I feel that a school of this nature will add advantage to the greater western community at large.

The road is not wide enough to accomodate the number of vehicles accessing and egressing the site at start and finish times

Line of sight when leaving the site is unsafe eg. cannot see around busses and cars parked on the side of road waiting to pickup and drop off

95% of staff and students will be driven into the area and our local roads and intersections will not handle the extra traffic causing massive lineups outside the school and at nearby intersections

Proposed carriage way not safe for pedestrians and bike riders

The proposal does not address road flooding in heavy rains

Not safe access and egress for heavy vehicles (no turn around on site)

No sewerage available, septic will overflow in heavy rain

The building will create too much run off during rain resulting in flooding

Lack of street lights on roads and nearby Intersections

Too much noise generated from the site for neighbours especially with the 7 day extended operating hours until 9 and 10 pm

The school is not in keeping with the local rural residential atmosphere and will be detrimental to the neighbours and locals

A school in the area of Cathernie Fields will assist with the growing population in the immediate areas. Minarah College has a positve reputation and provides excellent education for our childrens' future. As a teacher, it also provides opportunities for future employment close to my residential address.
I support this project to go ahead and will be a fantastic addition to the rapidly growing community.

I object the roads will not be able to cope with the extra traffic, there is only one lane each way with the edges of the road unstable which stops traffic moving around stationery traffic.

The school is close to a bend which impedes the line of sight for safe entry and exit.

No street lighting or kerb & guttering to allow pedestrian and bike movement on surrounding roads

The surrounding roads often flood in rain especially in front of the proposed development and the plans submitted do not improve the situation. These roads are continually needing repair

The building does not visually blend in with the surroundings and will have extended hours of operation 7 days a week which will increase noise and traffic for the neighbours and being a rural area the noise will travel

We do not have the infrastructure in the area and no plans have been made to subdivide this area

There isn’t any sewer and no future plans have been spoken about

The government has areas designated for schools with all infrastructure and neighbours aware of the plans

I can not see any benefit to my local area for the school to be built as the majority of staff and pupils will be coming from outside the area

best performing schools in Liverpool based on NAPLAN results. Students attending Catherine Fields Campus will benefit high quality learning which will support the growing demand for the skilled workforce of Western Sydney.

We are in desperate need of more schools within this community area.

I support the protect: The new school would be a positive addition to Catherine Field and the broader Western Sydney community,
where Islamic faith-based schools are in high demand.
o Western Sydney families deserve to have convenient access to quality education and the proposed Campus
would help meet this need.
o The population in the school’s catchment area is forecast to grow rapidly and the proposed new schools are
urgently needed to meet the demand.
o The school plans to develop productive relationship with the community by sharing school facilities, such as
sports fields.
o Minarah College has a long and proud history of contributing to the local community, including through
participation in Anzac Day commemorations, fundraising activities for charities like the Cancer Council, donating to Foodbanks, and visiting older people in residential care. I have no doubt that it will do the same at Catherine Field.
o Minarah College will be a good neighbour to neighbours in Catherine Fields as they have been around the Green Valley campus.
o The impact on local roads will be minimised because parents will follow the rules during drop-offs and pick-up. o Noise will be minimised, and footpaths will remain clear because student pick-up waiting areas are well within
the school boundaries
o There is ample car parking on site and easy access and exit from the site.
o Minarah College Green Valley has shown itself to be a great place for learning. In 2020, it topped the list of
best performing schools in Liverpool based on NAPLAN results. Students attending Catherine Fields Campus will benefit high quality learning which will support the growing demand for the skilled workforce of Western Sydney.
o Minarah Campus Students in Catherine Fields will have access to the latest technology, STEAM and VET opportunities – and all will be encouraged to reach their potential. No one will be left behind!
o I like the design; it blends well with the rural setting. The scale and bulk of the buildings fits well with the surrounding environment because of extensive green canopy and thoughtful design.
o The school has endeavoured to minimise the impact of development on immediate neighbours through planting and screening. These will protect their privacy and keep down noise level
o The school will provide ongoing jobs for teachers and for tradesman during construction period.
o The project has a 60-student early learning centre that will contribute to the new government policy of
extending education to year 4 children and in the process increase womens’ participation in the workforce.

I support the building of the new Minarah College at Catherine Fields.

This is an excellent expansion of Minarah College and is the initiative of the Principal Mr Jay Halai and his dedicated hard work with his team and as a professional colleague and part of this expansion I am delighted to see the school expanding with the digital era in which the realm of contemporary Australian education is taking place.

The road can't cope with the extra traffic. The current road is one lane each way with no kerb/guttering or lightning. The rural roads will be flooded with cars during drop of and pick up. The size of the development isn't in keeping of the area. The school will operate 7 days a week with long operating hours which will negatively impact residents. The infrastructure isn't there to support a school of this size!

This project is a fantastic initiation leading Minarah College once again in the right direction. The school has worked extremely hard to overturn the name and ethics of the school. This campus will further out the children of the future to learn in a safe, academic environment where their individual needs and aspirations will be met. I cannot wait to see this project in the near future.

Minarah College Green Valley has shown itself to be a great place for learning. In 2020, it topped the list of
best performing schools in Liverpool based on NAPLAN results. Students attending Catherine Fields Campus will benefit high quality learning which will support the growing demand for the skilled workforce of Western Sydney.

The new school would be a positive addition to Catherine Field and the broader Western Sydney community, where modern and Innovative schools are in high demand. Given the population growth in this area and the opening of new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport in the near vicinity, it is logical to establish a fully fledged school so that it caters for the growing demand for quality education.
The addition of Special Education and Early Learning Center will provide a convenient place for the parents to send their childern to. Currently there is a lack of these facilities especially in Camedn and Leppington Area.
The plan as is suggested is to build in satges. This will fit in well with the growth of population. As the population grows so will the school.
I strongly recommend that this project must be given due consideration and approved.

Roads in and out, to reach the proposed College, are inadequately built to take the load of traffic that will consistently be coming 5 days a week.
Buses, cars, trucks travelling on narrow unkerbed roads are not safe! In particular in wet weather conditions would be horrific! Accidents waiting to happen.
Noise and air pollution also would increase and effect residents in this this beautiful area.
