Name of Application: Lake Macquarie Private Hospital Extension.
Number of Application: SSD-38025700
Statement of Objection: I object to the project.
The reasons for my objection are as follows :
Traffic: Due to the area being a residential area the roads were not designed for the amount of traffic using the road. Residents reversing out of their driveways have to reverse into the middle of the road due to cars parked too close to the edge of the driveways and obstructing the view of the oncoming traffic making it unsafe, dangerous and stressful.
Although not directly involved with the Hospital extension, the existing Specialist Medical Centres increase in patients will put more cars into the surrounding streets.
The new two floor car park plus the existing car parks will not accommodate the increased volume of staff and visitors to the Hospital.
Noise Pollution: Due to the increase of traffic coming and going and opening and closing their car doors at all hours of the day and night , by both staff and visitors will cause stress, related illnesses and have a negative impact on residents in the area.

With the current hospital parking closed my street and surrounding streets are filled with cars every day. This is understandable but seeing elderly and disabled people driving up and down looking for a park and then having to walk so far just to get to the hospital is distressing. My worry is with extending the hospital there still will not be enough parking provided or even possibly my street becoming metered parking. I can’t find anything to answer my questions.

this development will infringe on our privacy being 10 stories in height as it overlooks our property and our bathroom and bedroom window and will need to be closed at all times as well as being able to see into our back yard.Parking is already impossible to find and visitors to our property already cannot find parking close by.The spaces that will be built in the application will barely cover staff parking.People park illegally in our street and park over our driveway now.We already have a constant flow of traffic looking for parking in our cul de sac street and they cannot turn around in the key hole at the end of the street using personal driveways to perform a u turn because of illegal parking when we complain to council we are ignored. This will become worse when the hospital is extended.Noise from the constant comings and goings and of louder cars and trucks will affect our mental health.

I am writing to express my deep concern and objection to the proposed hospital expansion plans, in relation to the apparent lack of consideration for adequate parking facilities for local residents.
I understand the importance of expanding healthcare facilities to meet the growing needs of our community. However, it is disheartening to note that the current plans do not seem to address the essential issue of parking accessibility for local residents. Access to convenient parking is not only a matter of convenience but also a critical factor in ensuring that community members, especially those with limited mobility or medical conditions, can access their own residence when required without unnecessary hardship.
I want to bring to your attention that I am the parent of a resident in Casey Street and I own that house. My daughter who lives there has a disabled child, and she has significant health issues that make mobility a significant challenge. The availability of accessible and convenient parking in her own street and even outside her own home is not just a matter of convenience for individuals like her but is crucial to be able to get into and out of her home without having to park in another street.
This situation is already out of control with hospital staff and visitors parking outside her home from early morning till night. She has been booked twice for parking across her own driveway or on her front lawn because there is no parking in Casey Street at all and she had to get her child, her groceries and herself into her home without parking a long distance away.
Parking shortages can lead to safety concerns, and potential negative impacts on local businesses. It is essential to acknowledge that the expansion of the hospital should not come at the expense of the well-being and convenience of the very community it aims to serve, especially those with unique health and mobility challenges.
I urge the planner to consider these issues of local residents, taking into account the specific needs of individuals with disabilities and health challenges.
Moreover, these issues must have solutions such as shuttle services, or timed parking in the surrounding streets.
Thank you
