The proposed development at 90 Gindurra road Somersby will create a
hostile environment in an area where existing residential homes are
located along with many employed people in the area, over 1000 school
children in direct line of sight in the Penang Parklands. Also in
direct line of sight a short distance away is western area of Kariong
Housing Estate.
The pollution in all forms, air quality, noise and operation
hours, heavy transport pollution, land destruction and surrounding
collateral effects to many different land uses will be a devastation
to the area.

I whole-heartedly object to the prospect of the concrete crushing and
industrial waste disposal plants being set up in Somersby.

I object to having reduced air quality due to silica dust, causing
future cancer risks

I object to having this facility within such close proximity to family
homes, and local businesses and communities, and schools.

I object to the potential destruction of Indigenous artefacts in the
area.

I object to the destruction of 1.5 hectares of Pygmy-Possum's habitat.

I object to the risk of asbestos becoming airborne with earthworks on
the property.

I object to the proposal for a refuse tip/ concrete crushing facility on
the following grounds:
1.Proximity to rural properties in particular rural 1A farming land.
We are primary producers growing pecans which are sent overseas and
are required to be grown in a chemical free environment.
2.The impact of heavy vehicle traffic on Gindurra and Debenham Roads.
This will result in congestion at all hours of the day on a road that
serves as an alternative route to and from Gosford at times when the
Central Coast Highway is closed due to traffic accidents and is used
by local residents to travel to West Gosford. The existing road will
not cope with the the saturation of heavy vehicles.
3.Air quality will be impacted by particle matter resulting from the
crushing of concrete and vehicle emissions seriously impacting on
homes in close proximity to the corner of Gindurra road and Debenham
Road.
4. Vehicles travelling on the M! will also be subjected to particle
matter in the air as the M1 is directly below the proposed plant.
5. There has always been concern for corridors of bushland for animals
in the Somersby region with total disregard for animal welfare this
proposal will eliminate a significant habitat for animals.
6.There are serious concerns for the impact of silica on the health of
local residents, including the juvenile justice centre and Kariong
Mountains High, workers in the industrial estate.
and regular commuters on the M1.
7.There is also the possibility of unidentified sources of asbestos in
old concrete.
8.The proposal falls outside of the original development of Somersby
Industrial area as Light Industrial. In addition there is already
another recycling site immediately across the from this proposed site
adding to the total impact of the proposal in terms of traffic
congestion, noise pollution and air quality.
9 .The potential for contaminated stormwater discharge from the site.

I cannot understand why you would risk the health of the local community
with such close proximity to residential housing and businesses
including a high school and a community preschool not to mention the
increase in trucks and traffic issues in a suburban area. Surely in a
country as large as ours we can move this industry further away from
public communities. Come on NSW major projects planning don't make an
illogical choice. SAVE SOMERSBY

I am shocked that the government is planning to create concrete crushing
and industrial waste disposal plants in a residential area that is in
close proximity to community facilities such a local high school.
These plans contradict the Gosford Council's Delivery Program and
Operational Plan 2018-19 and will have devastating impacts on the
environment. In addition, the health of locals is threatened and will
make locals at an increased risk of developing respiratory-related
diseases. We have the right to breathe clean air. SAVE SOMERSBY

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to express my great concerns at the above proposed waste
management sites to be located in on Gindurra Rd in Somersby.

My family have lived in Somersby since the early 2000's on a small
acreage which has come to be our own slice of heaven. It bemused us,
that we could live in such a beautiful part of the world, yet only be
a 15 minute drive from Gosford CBD, and only minuets from the freeway.
A place where we could bush walk, garden, keep our horses and ride
through the beautiful bush surrounds, enjoying all that the area has
to offer. A quaint semi rural/industrial suburb, on the fringes of the
hubbub sprawling into the western mountain regions. Unfortunately, the
sentiment for our paradise, seem to be the foundations for developers
choosing to destroy it.

But this is not the first time we have had to fight for our
tranquility. We staunchly resisted the proposal for a sand mine to be
dug behind Somersby Public School in the later years of the 00's, and
we will continue to resist such infrastructure "un-developments".

I believe that the proposed centres will impact profoundly on the
local environment and residents.

I urge the government to consider both the long term and short term
impacts of silicosis dust and air pollution, increased numbers of
heavy vehicles on local roads, the destruction of local environment
and also the sociological impacts of a 24/7 'waste site' being built
in our suburb.

This development does not align with Gosford Council's Delivery
Program and Operational Plan for 2018-2019.
I would like to draw attention to the following points which I believe
the proposed site is in direct contradiction to:

E1 - Educate the community on the value and importance of natural
areas and biodiversity, and encourage community involvement in caring
for our natural environment
F1 - Protect our rich environmental heritage by conserving beaches,
waterways, bushland, wildlife corridors and inland areas, and the
diversity of local native species
F2 - Promote greening and ensure the wellbeing of communities through
the protection of local bushland, urban trees, tree canopies and
expansion of the Coastal Open Space System (COSS)
F3 - Improve enforcement for all types of environmental non-compliance
including littering and illegal dumping, and encourage excellence in
industry practices to protect and enhance environmental health
H4 - Plan for adequate and sustainable infrastructure to meet future
demand for transport, energy, telecommunications and a secure supply
of drinking water
L1 - Promote healthy living and ensure sport, leisure, recreation and
aquatic facilities and open spaces are well maintained and activated
Yet our children won't be able to play in their own yards without
being surrounded by constant deadly silicosis dust
L2 Invest in health care solutions including infrastructure, services
and preventative programs to keep people well for longer
A4 Enhance community safety within neighbourhoods, public spaces and
places
I3 - Ensure land use planning and development is sustainable and
environmentally sound and considers the importance of local habitat,
green corridors, energy efficiency and stormwater management.

I hope that with further consideration to the proposed centres, the
government too can see that this 'un-development' does not belong in
our beautiful suburb. Somersby is not commerce's industrial waste
facility.

Kind Regards,
Jessie Gilbert.

I am concerned about the health risks associated with this application.
This area is known as home to a lot of young families as well as
schools and juvenile centres. These young people will be exposed to
silica dust and asbestos (both of which are lethal). What are we doing
to our children by exposing them to such deadly air?
I urge you to consider this please and undertake the correct
scientific tests if you have doubts. Currently the only location on
the Central Coast that has air quality tested is Wyong which is 20
kilometres away and therefore not an accurate result.

We are concerned about the following affects on the local area and
community:
DEADLY Silicosis dust in the air affecting schools, families &
businesses.
Destruction of local wildlife (birds, owls, wallabies & possums) their
habitats & food source, including 1.5 hectares of the endangered
Eastern Pygmy-Possum habitat.
Noise. Over 200+ trucks per day, running 24/7 (roughly one truck every
5 mins) carrying & dumping 40 tonne loads and ongoing crushing
activities, which will cause offensive noise, dust and vibration to
local businesses and bordering residential properties.
Offensive smell caused by stockpiling of industrial waste.
Visual pollution. The Plant/Building would be a visual eyesore and out
of character with the surrounding forest landscape and rural
residential blocks.
Adverse health impact. Reduced air quality to the children and
teachers of Kariong High School, Riding for the Disabled Association,
events run at Mt. Penang Gardens, Frank Baxter Juvenile Justice Centre
and people of West Gosford and Gosford.
Risk of asbestos in the air due to unknown industrial waste being
crushed. (It has been noted that asbestos to have already been located
on site.)

wildlife into a dumping area for Waste Management

Whilst you may consider it somewhat efficient for these plants to be
built, it's not the right thing to do. Instead of building more waste
you should look at the very core cause of the waste and so away with
it.

I object to the submission for approval for the concrete crushing plant
located on Gindurra Rd at somersby.

I object for the following reasons:

. The health impact of dust on residents of Somersby, Kariong, Narara
and Gosford

. Contamination of water supply for both ground water run off and
airborne particles

. Traffic of trucks on Debenham rd, Gindurra and Arcacia rd somersby

. The economical impact of house prices in the local area

I wish to object to the applications for two separate for concrete
crushing and industrial waste disposal plants which will:

- process 700,000 tonnes of waste each year,
- border on residential properties,
- operate 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.

It is wrong that Local Council has been bypassed - developers have
gone direct to the NSW Department of Planning and Environment. This
has not allowed local residents to be heard fully.

I am very concerned about the proposed waste facility for 90 Gindurra
Road, Somersby. This is an area close to Gosford and close to homes,
businesses, schools, the Australian Reptile Park and Mt Penang
Gardens.
Somersby is well known as a place of natural beauty with unique flora
and fauna. This waste facility is likely to cause pollution and a high
risk of exposure to asbestos and to silica dust.
The high volume of trucks accessing the facility would be a nightmare
for this area with incredible loud noise pollution and the air quality
would be adversely effected.
I cannot think of a single positive benefit and I urge iyou to reject
the application.

Can you not find somewhere less populated on the central coast that you
could propose this development?
Why is the central coast the breeding ground for all the shit Sydney
doesn't want

Move further Northwest away from the hugely populated area.
Keeping in mind you have a high school located closely to the proposed
development and a juvenile detention centre also, should we start
taking names for the future class action lawsuit that will take place?
Due to the detrimental impact this will have on the youths lives not
to mention the local residents AND custodial owners of our land the
