I object to this because of the risk tof wildlife and the risk of silica
and asbestos and other impacts in a sensitive area and close to
community.

I am writing to you as a person who loves our Central Coast community. I
urge you to stop this proposed development for concrete crushing and
industrial waste disposal plants. We only have days to have the NSW
government planning department to object to its operation in this
idyllic and recreational location.

My reasons are not selfish, but I declare an interest as it is
adjacent to where I live and I can see how it will impact the area by
the following:
1. Destroying the habitat for the wildlife, including native birds
will be impacted by the noise. It has taken me two years to attract
bird life back to the property here, due to noise and blasts from the
Gosford Sandstone Quarry that already operates in the area.
2. The road is very dangerous as it is used as a rat run in early
mornings and afternoons to the Somersby Industrial Estate, and the
extra heavy vehicle traffic will take it to the next level of
dangerous, as it already is a identified Traffic Black Spot. A
fatality is only centimetres away from vehicles travelling well above
the 15 to 50 kph limits on this hilly, windy, and very narrow road.
Mixing this with large tip trucks will be disasterous!
3. The proposed crushing plant will have a highly destructive or
damaging effect on the environment and the local amenity with noise,
dust, and additional heavy vehicle traffic taking construction
demolition material from Sydney including chemical effected and
potentially Asbestos effected rubble from the Stadium Demolition sites
4. It will be devastating and distressing especially for children at
the Riding for the Disable Centre, that is next to it, and the
occupants in the Juvenile Justice Centre, and visitors to the Mt
Penang Gardens that backs onto it
5. As it is only three kilometers from the Centre of Gosford, and I
have line of site view of the CBD, where potentially plumes of deadly
silica dust could be blown over our city, let alone settle on the
expansive suburb of Kariong made up mainly of young families - that is
less than a kilometre away.

Let me know if you want any further information, but I urge you to
protect our beautiful Central Coast by taking action to stop this
proposal NOW.

I strongly appose the proposal of a this crushing site with such close
proximity to my children's school CCSC. at
16, Mt Penang Parklands, The Avenue, Kariong NSW 2250
Can you provide a full report from the EPA regarding risk factor from
dust particles, the risk they pose and distance said particles can
travel in the wind????

I strongly oppose this project going ahead for the following reasons:-
1) I have serious concerns about its effect on health and environment.
People live and work nearby and children attend two schools nearby.
They could all be impacted by contaminated dust. Beautiful bushland is
also nearby such as Somersby Falls and the reptile park. It will be
covered in dust!!
2) Somersby Industrial Park was not established to become the dumping
ground of Sydney's rubbish
3) Concrete grinding and noise is a scheduled activity for this
proposal that borders on a residential street.
4) There will be a huge impact of additional heavy traffic going in
and out of the facility.
5) I believe that this should not be a State Significant Development,
but should be assessed by Central Coast Council.

Please of what this project will do to our environment, our community and
our future.
The massive increase of traffic should put a stop to such a project.
It is irresponsible to have this type of business at such close
proximity to our water catchment, our food supply and our children and
families.

I object to this application based on the following reasons:
- environmental impacts (no air quality tests within the immediate
area have been tested);
- a report has been released stating there is asbestos within the area
and there is no safe way to contain asbestos;
- the amount of silica which will be released into the air;
- the amount of trucks entering and leaving the site on local roads;
- the impact to local businesses and tourism;
- the extremely close proximity to residential homes;
- the destruction of Aboriginal artefacts.

I visit my family who reside in Kowara Road, Somersby.
The proposed development is located within 500 m to their property. A
proposal such as a waste facility will adversely impact the amenity of
the many residential properties in the area.

Please think of what this project will do to our environment, community
and our future.
The massive increase of traffic alone should put a stop to such a
project. Not to mention the high risk of an asbestos dust cloud
created by crushing concrete.
Have you actually done any proper scientific research and a thorough
and rigorous assessment into what will happen to our environment if
this project goes ahead?
It is irresponsible to have this type of business at such close
proximity to our water catchment, our food supply and our children and
families.

We cannot have two Concrete crushing facilities so close to our
Highschool, Sports School, Pre-Schools & Community.

My nephew who lives in proximity to the plant is allergic to dust.
Which means my sister will be forced to move.

Loss in property valve.

Irreversible damage to the environment.

Possible destruction of Aboriginal artifacts

Loss of income to local organic farms that will be forced to no longer
claim be organic.

Destruction of local wildlife (birds, owls, wallabies & possums) their
habitats & food source, including 1.5 hectares of the endangered
Eastern Pygmy-Possum habitat.

This refuse tip & cement crushing works is very detrimental to the health
of the surrounding community it is also disastrous to the native flora
& fauna...and is also intrusive to aboriginal heritage sites...The
increase in the movement of trucks going to & from this proposed site
will have damaging consequences to the roads in this area and will
also increase the amount of trucks using the M1 freeway...Please do
not approve this dreadful application ...It must be stopped right now

I object to this proposal on the grounds that -
. traffic impacts would be horrendous with the huge increase in the
number of trucks on the M1 and local roads
. Health concerns for local schools, gaol inmates and workers,
and residents
.contamination due to silica dust settling on crops in the area
causing health problems to those eating the product and major
financial loss to local farmers
. threat to pygmy possums, endangered plants, and aboriginal sites

My little girls go to Pre prep in Kariong & getting ready to begin
primary school in the Kariong area also. This frightens me that some
do not understand the long term implications of silica & other
compound inhalation on our health, esp on young lungs. Please stop
this, reasons are obvious.

I feel there is a responsibility from the govt. to protect the residents'
health and welfare from a heavy industrial business of this nature.

The air and road report seem flawed as the air report is taken from a
station in Wyong (22KM) away. With the frequent gusts of winds and
breezes constantly being displayed around the proposed area, the local
residence will be impacted constantly from the dust produced not only
from the manufacturing of the products, but from the trucks, tracking
in and out of the property as well.

On top of this, the actual traffic report seems to under-estimate the
current usage of the proposed corner.

I would highly recommend this land be used for light or clean
industrial use so it won't impact the local families and outdoor
businesses who need fresh air to live and make a living.

There are also nearby farms that make use of the current clean
surrounding air and produce organic crops to sell.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
1. Dust- there is no safe level
2. Noise- no way should they be aloud to work 24/7
3. Lifestyle- do you want them on your doorstep no well nor do I
4.Traffic- local roads cannot cope with this volume
5. Waste- you do not want it nor do we
6. Health- Husband has had a double lung transplant last year and we
have doctors certificates that say due to being immune suppressed he
has to avoid any exposure to farm and industrial -DUST and chemicals
The other problems are aboriginal artifacts as well as wild life and
there habitat
This is the reason I object so strongly to this application this DA if
approved could very well kill my husband

my husband and I have seen our children grow up in Kariong and enoy the
freedom and cleaness of an area surrounded by protected bushlands.

MY children and grandchildren have all gone to the local community
pre-school and now my grandaughter enjoys the school up at Mt. Penang
Parklands
Now we hear that 200,000 tonnes p.a. of waste products are about to be
delivered to less than 900 metres from this public space ,
!!!delivered by 100's of trucks.

Australia is already experiencing very dry dusty conditions throughout
the long summer, how would you suggest our local residents, wild life
and fauna manage such an awful onslaught!!!!!
