I live in 2 Olive St Wentworthville and sharing boundary with Darcy Road Public School and would like to request on the development. I have not seen upgrade of school Parking planning but i would like to request/suggest to have strong barrier to stop hitting car to my fence. Since we have moved (6 months) 2 person has hit my fence from school side while parking and damaging fence. One of the driver reported she has hit and paid for the fixing damaged fence. However the other instance driver has not reported and left without reporting of an accident/hitting fence.

Also, it would be good to have CCTV in the parking area which will help in such event and also stop unauthorized parking.
I had to bare cost of replacing damaged fence.
Considering parents may park in the school parking area and always there is high chance that someone may hit our fence, hence requesting to consider to have strong barrier to stop car being hit fence and damage.

I support the project, In addition to the proposed plan, I would also like to place a request. The request is to plan for some shaded seating arrangements outside to the school. This will be helpful for the Parents and the aged Grand parents whilst waiting for the kids pickup. Locations where this would be helpful are on the Darcy road and olive street. This request was placed before with the council too, but it has never been actioned. At least this time, Kindly consider this request for the benefit of aged citizens and vulnerable people.

I have concerns about the current fence profile and was hoping that this would be fixed as part of the upgrade. Having reviewed the plans I am disappointed to read that a proper fence may be considered as part of a future upgrade. Where as I believe that the safety and security of children is of utmost priority always. Surely there are novel ways of ensuring safety and security by installing proper fence and CCTV as opposed to relying on a handful of manual supervisors to monitor some 100+ kids in the play area? If a child runs out of the fence to retrieve a soccer ball then would the supervisors run after them to keep them safe? There are also news reports now and then about cars crashing into the driveways of homes causing harm, wouldn't that be such a risk with low height fencing? What about intruder risks?

To me safety and security is the mandatory requirement and the 'openness' is a visual or aesthetic feature that can be achieved using different fencing styles. Spear top steel fences of a proper height are the norm in most schools, which are welcoming and also allow for 'openness' yet ensuring that there are no trespassers and kids can't get out of schools easily.

Low height fences undoubtedly pose a risk in terms of intruders and trespassers who can easily be deterred from unauthorized access into the school with proper perimeter fencing. Such fences can also help prevent students from leaving the school without permission.

I would expect the perimeter fencing to be installed (as part of this upgrade) in line with what most other schools follow in Sydney. And that ensures safety of not just children but also peace of mind for parents to be rest assured that their children are safe at school.
