Excellent project. Ideally will maximize public space.

Firstly it is great to see the redevelopment of Cockle Bay wharf as it a frequently visited area by the public, tourists and office workers. I absolutely support the redevelopment of the podium zone as it will bring in money to the state along with enhancing the surrounding land.

However I am opposed to the following:
1. HEIGHT OF THE TOWER: This is completely out of balance with the surrounding buildings. Building heights are supposed to increase moving away from the water to keep a sense of scale. By plonking a tower literally twice the height of the towers that are behind, is completely senseless and reeks of land/money grab..land that is meant for the enjoyment of the public.
2. BULK OF THE TOWER: This tower is massive in width and girth and from the images seems at least twice the scale of the darling harbour office towers. How can this possibly be justified. There needs to be some semblance of scale with the surrounds and in line with the original needs of the given area considered a tourist hub.
3. PROXIMITY OF TOWER OF WATER: Given the scale of the tower, it is extremely close to the water. The tower must be set back in line with the Darling Harbour office towers. There needs to be a feeling of openness and space for the people using the foreshore.

My support will ONLY be for a tower that is significantly setback from the water to the height and width scale of the Darling towers. The height must not exceed the existing towers. It seems pointless having restrictions on height for the city when any developer can come in and build a tower to any height. There is a place for tall towers and it exists in the central zone of the CBD..not next to the Pyrmont bridge and Darling Harbour.

Please redevelop the harbourfront in a measured way and do not let greed and lang grab overpower the original purpose of Foreshore land.

This building is going to cast a Shadow right up as far as the new Townhall Park leaving nothing left of Darling Harbour for anyone to enjoy.

This building is going to cast a Shadow right up as far as the new Townhall Park. It’s called the Cocklebay Sky Skraper. They could easily redesign it and make it lower in height so it doesn’t mask the sun and the sunset. It’s ugly and will take over Darling Harbour - one of Sydney's well known attractions will be dwarfed by this monstrosity and black out the sun.

We already have The Ribbon which is nearing completion. The Ribbon is a monstrosity that looms over the whole of Darling Harbour. It is ugly and should never have been built. It masks the Anzac Bridge from many residents that had purchased before it was erected.
The Cockle Bay Skyscraper is far too large and not only is it also ugly but it will mask the sun and the sunset not only for the community but for many residents. Some residents will lose their view of Darling Harbour, as well as losing value on their properties. The community wants an area unencumbered by these types of ugly erections that loom over everything. The Skyscraper stands out like a sore thumb. It is aesthetically displeasing and far too high for the area. The architects need to go back to the drawing board and come up with solution that does not impact on the area, the view and the community. We mustn't make the same mistake with this Skyscraper like we did with The Ribbon.

The size and placement for this project is really not fair on the locals and will negatively affect Darling Harbour. If it must be built here, it needs to be lowered and ensure it's not masking the sun/sunset. This is really important! Why does it need to be built here of all places?? It needs to be redesigned.

I am a Pyrmont resident who passes by Cockle Bay Wharf daily. I strongly support this development as it will help bridge the CBD with Darling Harbour - unfortunately these two areas have been badly organised in the past and disjointed by the Western Distributor. It will be fantastic to see a park over the Distributor. I just wish the Government takes the next step and does something to connect the other part of Western Distributor, directly north of the proposed development on the other side of Darling Harbour and Pyrmont Bridge. That part would also benefit from greenery and general uplift as it remains extremely poorly designed.
I support more shops, restaurants and amenities in the enlarged development for Sydneysiders and Pyrmont locals to enjoy

While I generally support the proposed development, I am appalled at the proposal to destroy the existing Crescent Garden at Darling Square, otherwise known as the Waratah Garden. This beautiful garden with its interesting and diverse planting, water feature, and garden furnishings, is to be replaced by what appears to be just a circle of lawn with no character. If the Crescent Garden cannot be retained in its present form because of the requirements of the redevelopment, it should be adapted as far as possible to retain its existing design. This garden which was designed with assistance from the Royal Botanical Gardens, is intimate in scale, and well loved and used by people who work in the area. It should be made more generally accessible, but it must be retained. It is really unique, and quite unlike any of the other open spaces in and around the city. It is a type of C20th knot garden and deserves retention as a lovely piece of landscape artistry. I note that the open lawn proposed to replace it is pretty identical to the open lawn space proposed for the Northern Garden at Cockle Bay and much the same as the lawn at Tumbalong Park close by.

I support this development, however I believe that efforts should be made to retain the existing Crescent Garden as its diversity of plants, water feature, and striking Waratah-inspired layout make it a unique fixture atop the existing Darling Park complex. I think it will continue to complement the amenity of the future Cockle Bay Wharf, much more so than the plain lawn proposed as replacement.
