Attention: The Minister for Planning NSW, Parliament House, Macquarie Street, Sydney NSW 2000

Dear Sir,

SSD 5765
Bowdens Silver Mine Proposal, Lue NSW

I am writing this submission to you to request that you reject the approval of the above proposed mine.

The times I have spent at Lue have been pure quiet undisturbed escapes from the lights and noises of the city. And I cherish that tranquillity. I wish that to continue for & with, my children, and their children further.

To think that a mine is proposed to be constructed and operating a few kilometres from my stepmotherā€™s family farm appals me. 24 hours a day operation is pure madness. Light spillage and noise are real concerns, but dust and water pollution are also outcomes which should not be allowed.

Please reject this mine proposal, and derivatives of such, on a permanent basis.

Yours sincerely , concerned citizen.

I object strongly to this mine as someone who generally supports the mining industry, I find the type, location and ramifications of this mine beyond the call of jobs and growth.
The environmental implications of a lead mine, in this location are too risky including lead poisoning, toxic tailings dam and acid forming rock just above the Lawson Creek table. This area already has a strong tourism industry, viticulture, farming, hospitality industry so the argument for jobs does not weigh up against the risks.
Please reconsider this project. Not all local economies need to reliant on mining.

To Whom It may concern

Bowdens Silver Project

In reference to this project I am objection to the potential of power infrastructure of any size being constructed within or within the vicinity of my property at 1857 Castlereagh Highway, Cudgegong.

We have current arrangements and have entered into an agreement with the Biodiversity Conservation Trust and I believe this would directly impact that arrangement.

I believe that any infrastructure associated with this proposal constructed within the vicinity of my property would directly affect the value, our in place conservation agreements and the aesthetics of the area.

Were has been the community / landholder engagement?

Regards.

I grew up in the Mudgee reason and own a farm in Bylong Valley. There are so many reasons that a mine should not be established 2 kilometres from the Lue town and School. Water is the main one that I would like to address. The Bowdens Mine proposes to use approximately 2 Gigalitres of water EVERY YEAR just to operate their mine. NSW has been in the worst drought of a century - much of the state is still in drought - why would you allow that much water to be wasted when we have towns close to running out of water earlier this year.
The proposal will take more water from the Lawson Creek Valley than ALL the other water users in the valley put together. This water will be contaminated so can not be returned to the aquifers. And further there is significant risk that the contaminated water will leach into the surroundin water supplies - there are many examples of tailings dams leaking. In 2020 we can not allow this to happen.

You must say not to the proposed LEAD mine in Lue
