Does the new expansion make provision for increasing the number of bed spaces available for Palliative Care?
Currently there seems to be only the Palliative Care Unit attached to Mt. Druitt hospital which can only take between 14 - 16 beds. As Cancer is on the increase, we are living longer and more chronic diseases coupled with population growth, we need to make sure that adequate provision is made for increased Palliative Care.
Dignity for the dying is just as important as increase dialysis and other noted expansion health areas.
