While the building, above, may be in accord with the approved plan, it is not in accord with the URBAN environment of Darling Harbour and the City. The successful buildings in the Barangaroo / King Street Wharf Area are those built in accordance with the original architectural competition winner which foresaw buildings of about 6-8 storeys. The front rank of buildings in Barangaroo / King Street Wharf are in accordance with this concept and provide a pleasant environment for the foreshore. The second rank of buildings is up to 70 storeys and effect a crippling load on the environment of Darling Harbour and the City.

The three new buildings on Barangaroo South already overcrowd the area and by their black ugliness, cast a blight on the neighbourhood.

The proposal to develop three more even bigger buildings next door fills me with despair. Rapacity has become the guiding principle of Sydney's developers, hand in hand with the Government which proclaims it is 'Open for Business'. Never a truer slogan.

This proposed barrier of buildings, adjacent to the harbourside, will destroy what remains of the view from the water in this precinct and the view of Sydney and it's suburbs from the water is what all tourists want to see. It will also destroy the views of the neighbourhood to its east which had been part of the low rise protocols developed by an environmentally sensitive council.

The overcrowding of the site which will be vastly increased if such a development goes ahead would be breathtaking,. The pedestrian and vehicular traffic generated would clog such a restricted site.

I can see no justification for the spoliation of this waterside site except the generation of profit. It is sad for Sydney that such people are in charge.

1. the buildings will block the views of my property on level 20 of 183 kent st. I purchased the unit on the basis that the planned development at that time was less than 2 floors in front of my building, and now my place will be substantially diminished in value.

2. I object to the fact that the developers don't give Australians a fair chance to purchase the property on our own shores - they sell all the good property offshore and we are left with the rubbish. the government needs to crack down on this.

3. there is not enough infrastructure in the area
