Cemeteries and Crematoria NSW’s (CCNSW) Interment Industry Scheme (IIS), introducing a licensing framework for cemetery and crematorium operators, commenced as part of the Cemeteries and Crematoria Regulation on 14 October 2022.
The licence conditions under the Scheme have been approved by the CCNSW Board.

During the public consultation period, CCNSW received 21 formal submissions, 219 survey responses and hundreds of comments provided online and during consultation events. CCNSW thanks everyone who contributed to the development of the IIS.
