SIC Online Service

The online service will allow faster assessment times.

We have developed a digital service allowing applicants to request and track Special Infrastructure Contribution (SIC) assessments online via the NSW Planning Portal.

This allows faster assessment times, improveing the way the department communicates with applicants and councils during the SIC assessment process.

Users will have to register for a NSW Planning Portal account to begin the SIC assessment process. Once registered, applicants can access their dashboard to submit, track and add additional information to their SIC assessment request.

How to apply online

  1. Register for a NSW Planning Portal account to start your application.
  2. Log in to complete the online application form.
  3. View the Quick Reference Guides if you need any help

What documentation will I need?

Users will need to provide a copy of their development consent and an approved plan of subdivision/development for the land.  Further information may be required and will be requested via the NSW Planning Portal.

Am I in a SIC area?

You can access the NSW Planning Portal Spatial Viewer to see if your development is within a SIC area. The new Spatial Viewer provides a variety of base maps to improve your understanding of which planning controls apply to your site, which may be overlain with street maps and satellite maps.
