Kiama Depot

Proposal:  

The Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (the Department) is proposing to amend the Kiama Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2011 to rezone the Kiama Depot to allow for residential development. 

The Explanation of Intended Effects and accompanying documents were exhibited from 5 November 2025 to 3 December 2025, and the Department hosted five community information sessions over this period . Feedback received during the exhibition period will inform finalisation of the proposal in 2026. 

Key features of the draft proposal include: 

• approximately 450 new homes, including 10% dedicated to affordable housing
• building heights between 6 and 8 storeys
• approximately 600 parking spaces for residents and visitors
• opportunities to improve active transport options, such as walking and cycling.
