Prior to the Modification 5 being submitted an email was sent to the proponent stating

Having attended the Dargues mine Community meeting June 2022 and many other meetings and communication in the Past 10 years and more.
Having spoken to the Management of the Dargues mine and Aureliametals
Would you please consider the following.

The Proponent has had 4 years of operation time now of known facts and science that identifies impacts from the mine operation and this also gives a guide to what equipment and operation would be better for no impact.
Therefore the following should be included in the modification 5.

It should be stated in the modification 5 that

‘The operation of the Dargues Gold Mine will be modified and mitigated so that there will be no impacts whatsoever on the village of us andMajors Creek residents ‘

This email was sent to the proponent on the 28/07/2022 and to Aurelia metals 9/08/2022 as requested.

This has come about because of the communication that we have attended to with Dargues mine from the beginning of Aureliametals Ltd becoming the new owners of Dargues Mine.

My Communication with the Department of Planning NSW has been a constant since before the approval and the facts presented to Planning ,EPA and the mine have never been resolved.
We are now 10 years on that is more time than anyone ever gets to fix known Problems.
Impacts have been reported constantly with regard to noise especially at night the noise can disturb your sleep many times during the night this can lead to health and well-being of ourselves and residents of Majors Creek NSW.
The noise disturbance has never been resolved at all since operation of the Dargues Mine began. In all the reporting of any impacts our information has always been accurate to where the impact is coming from. The Proponent is currently attending to a noise impact coming from the ventilator fan. This impact has been ongoing ever since the fan was put in but never mitigated . When reporting impacts the message back to us on most if not all occasions is they are within the approval. Low frequency transmissions coming from the mine at night are causing great disturbance and distress to residents. The Dargues mine is as a neighbour and looks across the village of Majors Creek and we are a good neighbour to the mine as they should be to us.
As the Department of Planning and the proponent are well aware of all the impacts and science associated with it they are in a better position than us to mitigate the impacts and make our residential area peaceful again.

Yours Sincerely
