The scale and bulk of the proposal to increase the height of Building B from three storeys to eight storeys is out of character with the surrounding development and will be an eyesore.
The consequent increase in floor space will result in extra load on existing roads and on parking (with only seven more spaces being offered) and will impact severely on existing residential use.

I STRONGLY disagree in increase of the Building B from 3 stories to 8 stories. It will make surrounding buildings marginal, and it will add more people living in there, which will be a big traffic conjunction.
Please don't let this happen. Otherwise I have to sell my house and move out of the area.
Kind Regards,

I do not agree in the increase of the Building B, from 3 stories to 8 stories. It will make surrounding buildings small, and there are other negative effects.

I do not agree in the increase of the Building B, from 3 stories to 8 stories. It is going to be bad for the area. I cannot imagine these tall building in Eastlakes surrounded by small buildings.
Please don't let this happen.

Disgusting- sneaky way of adding to the already very densely populated area.

This will mean additional dwellings, additional traffic , additional pressure on the local schools that are already filled to capacity.

Building apartments with no solar access is ludicrous as we should be moving to sustainable environmental building. Again this proposal change will further add to the demand for non-renewable resources to heat/ cool these residential 'boxes'.

Using the term,"Gateway Building" to describe the enormous change from three storey structure to an eight storey structure
is misleading and misrepresentative of the true nature of this change. The enormity of this alteration to the original plan should be presented at a local meeting and a 'letter drop' within the local community. Not as an insignificant advertisement.

The original proposal for the site was for approximately 480 apartments. This was denied by the Department of Planning and the Environment in 2013 and the local community were advised that the development will only have 400 dwellings.

Why is this developer allowed to propose a further change of this scale?this is unforgivable and greedy.

Your department is currently destroying the suburbs of Sydney with its lack of planning due to very little foresight . Build the infrastructure first! These suburbs are currently struggling with the traffic increases and lack of adequate public transport.

I object to this proposal. Increasing the height from 3 storeys to 8 storeys is too high. This area is densely populated as it is. This proposal will only worsen the traffic & street parking.

I object to the submission as the structure will be to high and not blend in with the dwellings in the surrounding area. Also feel not enough parking is being provided.

I oppose the modification on building B from 3 storeys to 8 storeys because the height proposed is excessive as it would block sunlight and breezes to the neighbouring properties and impede on my view. I also feel the additional housing will overpopulate the area and cause more traffic and will limit resident parking in residential streets, which is already a big problem. Also the fact that they are ignoring the height restrictions of the local area is appalling.

I object to this modification:
1. The site is already overcrowded and increasing the retail footprint will exacerbate this problem
2. Increasing the height of the building by five storeys is totally unacceptable. Why was this not proposed in the initial consultations? This is nothing more that an attempt by Crown Group to increase their profits at the expense of the current residents. There was overwhelming opposition by Eastlakes residents to the height of the towers from the outset and this is a attempt by Crown to take advantage of the change in Council from Botany Bay to Bayside to further their own commercial interests.
3. The removal of five trees is also unacceptable. Eastlakes is already densely populated and there are two small green spaces, one of which will be significantly overshadowed by the Crown development. Removing five tress in an area already lacking natural greenery is unacceptable.

Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
* The developer the Eastlakes Shopping Centre development is seeking modifications that will permanently and detrimentally affect the local community.
* I object to the increase in the height of the building B. This is an appalling precedent for this area.
* I also object to the increase in overall site floor space by approximately 20 percent (49,040 m2 to 59,856 m2). The streets on three sides East, South and West (excluding Gardeners Road) are very narrow and the increased traffic that this will not only negatively impact the amenity of the area it will compromise the area's traffic pedestrian safety.
* Members of my family live very close to the Eastlakes Shopping Centre development, and it is an area I hope to move into in the next year or so. The current safe, family focused nature of this neighbourhood would be very much under pressure should the modification request (MP 09_0146 MOD 1) be approved.
I hope the Department will consider what is best for residents when making their determination.
