Minarah College

As a resident of Catherine Field my whole life, and having seen how it has grown & progressed over the last 20+ years, by no means has it grown OR progressed enough to support a whole school.
The roads are in a terrible condition, barely able to support current residents, let alone school traffic.
Not to mention, Deepfields road is left in, left out, at both ends. This, again, does not accommodate current traffic needs, let alone the addition of school traffic.
When it comes to the safety of the students, we have no foot paths, no streetlights, and little to no maintenance to our non-existent sidewalks. This is not an environment for a small child to be entering and leaving school every day.
I have no doubt with the addition of a school, some upgrades will be made, but unless there is a complete knock-down and re-build of Catherine Field, the infrastructure just won't handle it.

Catherine Field is an opportunity for people to live in a quiet rural area, where the houses aren’t crammed in and on top of each other.
It's a community for people who want to live on some land, with gardens and farming animals, and live a little more self - sufficient. you can see over the last few years, the houses are becoming more prestige, and the people really care about the quality of life here. The addition of any kind of school would disturb that completely, and Catherine Field would no longer be the rural serenity is has become.

With the growing population in South West Sydney, there is a crucial need for learning centres, primary and high schools. Minarah College, Catherine field would be able to cater a part of that need.

Western Sydney families deserve to have convenient access to quality education and the proposed Campus
would help meet this need.
Minarah Campus Students in Catherine Fields will have access to the latest technology, STEAM and VET
opportunities – and all will be encouraged to reach their potential. No one will be left behind!

With the rapidly rising population of Muslims in the Western Sydney community, a new Faith based Islamic school is essential for the people there. I am completely in favour for this project as I believe it will create a positive atmosphere with more diversity and opportunity for the locals. Australia is a multicultural country and with more faith-based schools, children will have great opportunity to gain understanding of their faith as well as gain great beneficial academic knowledge.

I believe that the proposal for the new school will be a great addition to the community. It will give children an opportunity to attend a school and receive an education which supports their Islamic faith. The population is growing and the communities are larger, this new school will support that growth and meet the demand. This will be great for the future of our community and i am pleased that students from all areas will be able to attend this school which has values and beliefs which enhance their Australian and Islamic identity.

As a teacher, I think this project is beneficial as it creates job opportunities for teaching staff in Western Sydney and access to improved facilities. Since the population is growing it will also be vital for students to have access to new buildings and resources in the near future. It is an opportunity to attract more education professionals to the area who are skilled and new families seeking a more liveable area, where housing costs are lower and there is a burgeoning sense of community. Many schools in the local area have classes which are oversubscribed so building another education amenity will ease the congestion on the system.

Yes, after speaking to many locals they are craving and anticipating when this school will open so they can send their children to it.

Minarah College has a long and proud history of contributing to the local community, including through
participation in Anzac Day commemorations, fundraising activities for charities like the Cancer Council,
donating to Foodbanks, and visiting older people in residential care. I have no doubt that it will do the same at

o Noise will be minimised, and footpaths will remain clear because student pick-up waiting areas are well within
the school boundaries
o There is ample car parking on site and easy access and exit from the site.
o Minarah College Green Valley has shown itself to be a great place for learning. In 2020, it topped the list of
best performing schools in Liverpool based on NAPLAN results. Students attending Catherine Fields Campus
will benefit high quality learning which will support the growing demand for the skilled workforce of Western
Sydney.
o Minarah Campus Students in Catherine Fields will have access to the latest technology, STEAM and VET
opportunities – and all will be encouraged to reach their potential. No one will be left behind!
o I like the design; it blends well with the rural setting. The scale and bulk of the buildings fits well with the
surrounding environment because of extensive green canopy and thoughtful design.
o The school has endeavoured to minimise the impact of development on immediate neighbours through
planting and screening. These will protect their privacy and keep down noise level
o The school will provide ongoing jobs for teachers and for tradesman during construction period.

I support the new campus because the new school would be a positive addition to Catherine Field and the broader Western Sydney community, where Islamic faith-based schools are in high demand and provide ongoing jobs for teachers and builders during the construction phase. This development will also cater for younger children in the form of an early learning centre.
