Dear Sir/Madam
I am a Board member of Minarah College and would like to support this project as this will bring immense opportunity to the diverse multi-cultural community of Camden. Camden is an emerging and fast growing community and it urgently needs a school to support its community. This project will support the Camden community and will offer education of high quality. This project will respond to the needs of a rapidly growing business and education sector in Camden by producing the quality and quantity of educated people sufficiently equipped with the requisite knowledge to solve the society’s problems in order to meet the challenges of development and attain competitiveness at affordable costs. The School Board has done an extensive consultation and engagement of this project. This is a high-quality plan that reflects the ideas of students, parents, educators, community members, and other service providers.

Minarah College Board continues to demonstrate its commitment to the development of Camden region by submitting this project proposal document for approval and in so doing it continues to fulfil one of the objectives of the Ministry of Education of participating in the development of the population of Camden region and the neighbouring regions. The Board of Minarah aims to make many children in the Camden community feel happy by providing a high standard education facility and education in particular for pre-school, primary school, secondary school, and high school.

The Board has taken into consideration all Camden Council's planning requirements and strategies to mitigate any community concerns, e.g. parking, neighboring, envrionment etc. by hiring a professional consultant firm to undertake this propsal and project.

Therefore, I humbly request that this proposal be given due favourable consideration and approval to proceed.

I look forward for a positive and kind response, please.

Thank you.

I am writing to object to Minarah College SSD-30759158.

As a resident of Catherine Field I strongly object to any school being built in Catherine Field.

Catherine Field is a rural area, that offers a country lifestyle, with little traffic, a small population (compared to most other residential areas), minimal noise and an abundant of wildlife including birds, reptiles and mammals. These are just some of the reasons we purchased our property.

A school will increase traffic, particularly during school hours, not only with parents/carers taking or picking up students but also with teaching, administration, cleaning staff, etc driving to and from school. There will also be an increase in buses on the roads. Residents will be subjected to traffic jams as well as find it difficult entering or exiting Catherine Field Road. Not to mention that an increase in traffic will cause air pollution and possibly impact the health of residents.

Many trees will be removed and land cleared. This will displace many animals. When Oran Park was being developed we saw many kangaroos dead on the roads and I would hate to see this happen again.

Noise pollution will become an issue from the increased traffic and also from the students, particularly during their breaks, sporting activities and carnivals.

A school will devalue nearby properties as not many people would like to live close to a school.

A school will destroy the rural, laid back lifestyle that Catherine Field is known for and that all residents enjoy. Why should any resident have to move to enjoy a lifestyle that we currently have? A school simply does not belong at Catherine Field.

The new school would be a positive addition to Catherine Field and the broader Western Sydney community, where Islamic faith-based schools are in high demand. Western Sydney families deserve to have convenient access to quality education and the proposed Campus would help meet this need. Minarah College Green Valley has shown itself to be a great place for learning. In 2020, it topped the list of best performing schools in Liverpool based on NAPLAN results. Students attending Catherine Fields Campus will benefit high quality learning which will support the growing demand for the skilled workforce of Western Sydney. Minarah College has a long and proud history of contributing to the local community, including through participation in Anzac Day commemorations, fundraising activities for charities like the Cancer Council, donating to Foodbanks, and visiting older people in residential care. I have no doubt that it will do the same at Catherine Field. Minarah College will be a good neighbour to neighbours in Catherine Fields as they have been around the Green Valley campus.

I am against this school going ahead as the infrastructure is not there to support this. Our roads can not withstand any more traffic especially when dropping off and picking up. Catherine field is a rural area and we would like it to stay that way. My concerns are also the noise pollution near my home and especially on the weekends. Our area is a quiet residential area and would like it to stay that way too.
How can such a school be built in a flood zone area.
I am very strongly against this school being built in Catherine and especially so close to homes that reside next door, their privacy will be taken away let alone having so much noise at certain times when school days and sport days on weekends. Do not agree with the times on which will be active on weekends.
I am fully against this school going ahead

Dear person of interest

I am writing to let you know about the new school they are wanting to build in Catherine fields with 1500 Pupils Minarah College.

I would like to point our the recent floods that happen every year around Feb and March. The water damages our road constantly. Making it unsafe to drive your cars as the roads are damaged. Also we have a lot of trucks in the area mainly because the land is big and you can park a truck there. This means that if you are driving and you see a truck you have to drive off the road.

The way a lot of children go to school is to walk I don’t think this would be safe at all in our area. Considering the current roads. Or they catch public transport this means they still will need to walk to school this would be very unsafe with the amount of trucks and bad roads in the area.

We also are on septic tanks I am not sure but this could be a issue and the smell would be bad and this will affect the local birds and plants in the area. Also the noise will scare away the birds

The increased amount of cars on the road during local pickup would be horrible if you have seen the current road. As we have trucks in this area constantly. And there are so many pot holes and cracks on the side of the roads. The issue would be were do you park. And if you park at the local park the walk would not be very safe to get there for the children

The lack of safe walking paths is a big concern people like to walk to the local park how will they be abe to do this safely if the roads are blocked with cars during pick up and drop off and also the after school events that all schools have.

One big issue is this is not even a public school so the local people cant even send there children there. This is not a school that will benefit the community if you cant even send your own children there

One more point is there are bridges in and out of Catherine fields 3 of the them these are the only 3 ways to get out of the area. Barry Av, Catherine fields and deepfields. During the floods these have been covered with water.

I don’t not see this benefiting the community in any way. The impacted on the roads will become worse and the roads are very bad right now with out the added traffic this will add to them. The walk ways are extremally unsafe. And we are on septic tanks so the smell and added noise will destroy the animals in the area and the local plants.

Thankyou for your time

The new school would be a positive addition to Catherine field, I like the design and think is fits well with the rural setting. Western Sydney families deserve quality access to education and I feel that this campus would provide this.

The proposed school will meet the demand for students wanting to attend an Islamic school not only from SW Sydney but from inner metropolitan areas in Sydney where it is impossible to enroll children in Muslim-faith based schools. Thanks to buses charted by Minarah and public transport students from St George area will have access to the new school.
Also the proposed development has a Early Learning Centre that will directly contribute to the new Government Policy of educating 4-year old.
There will inevitably be adverse effects from development relating to noise, privacy and traffic congestion but these will be effectively remediated by mitigation measures outlined in the development application.

I feel this project will ruin the integrity of our area. The village of Catherine Field has been kept rural for good reason. It will loose its beautiful outlook if we let projects such as Minarah College be built along with all the extra traffic, noise and large structural buildings. More importantly, our roads and infrastructure do not accommodate for this type of project.

1. Catherine Field Rd cannot handle the increased traffic. One lane both ways will cause headaches, traffic jams etc
2. The area is on septic tanks, so to mange 1000 plus children in a school environment makes it pointless.
3. It doesn’t service the community, it targets one very very small percentage of a particular religious belief that we don’t support.
4. The school beliefs and teachings don’t cater for the general population of people that live around here and the area itself
5. Increased congestion, noise and pollution.

The roads in Catherine Field will not withhold soo much traffic, the school is qlso being built in a flood zone area. Parking will take over the street and adjoining roads and house with parents picking up their children.Catherine field is a rural town and the school will be to close to homes looking into our back yards. Let alone the noise of the school.
I do not agree with this school being built in Catherine Field. The infrastructure is not there to support this.

I have recently moved around the corner from this proposed school. I am really unhappy about this school going in as I feel that living on a large block of land is the reason I like the area.
Building a school like this seems rediculous considering we don’t have the roads and infrastructure to cater for something like this.
