New South Wales
My name is David Hanel & I live at 100 Klinberg Road Jindera.
I would like to express my opposition to the Jindera Solar Farm proposed in our area of Greater Hume Shire.
I’m extremely concerned of the locality of this development which is targeting prime agricultural land with 47.5% being class 3 (high agricultural land) and what the ramifications are for all who live close or those residing in the Shire. My parents have lived here since 1986, I also live here with my wife, the rural lifestyle is exceptional this is why we chose to reside here.
The development has the potential to destroy so much more than what is stated in the EIS not only the prime agricultural land but the loss of wild life and their habitat of this area. The extent of planning to destroy the native trees and vegetation is a concern, filling in 9 dams, also the constraints of movement throughout this area due to the panels and the 2 m perimeter fencing.
I have experienced wildlife in abundance animals, birds, reptiles, squirrel gliders and other wildlife not mentioned in the EIS.
The other concerns that I have is the micro climate, the lack of transparency; the area to the north of our property was not supposed to be covered with panels as the west side.
It is also bewildering that the crown land being purchased is not stated clearly only description is by letters and numbers I only hope that this will not impact on us as well.
The scattered areas of panels over 3 parcels of land and the many residents that are closely residing will have dramatic changes to their rural lifestyle, the aesthetic surrounds, devaluation of properties, fire risk and the damage to the community as neighbours, who are estranged throughout this process.
As the EIS is been read and reread for clarity one has to become robotic not to feel stress for the terminology throughout, RU1(resident uninvolved 1), no land conflicts, not adversely affected, no flooding impacts and the list is endless.
Solar energy projects does contribute to energy targets by the NSW and federal government BUT they should be planned in the right location and not in locations purely based on the transmission lines and the trans grid substation.
Thank you for your time
