The proposed solar farm on Orange Grove Road will have a negative impact
on the views from established residences and homes currently under
construction in the area.

Flooding and particularly the flow of water during a major flood is
also a primary concern. Although modelling has taken place, the
unpredictability of floodwater and its effects cannot be
underestimated. Currently, residents of the area are aware that a
major flood will have a substantial bearing on homes and farmland.
Residents are able to rely on past flood events to best determine the
flow of water and how it will affect their land and residences. If the
proposed solar farm is established, it will be an unknown variable in
determining the flow of floodwater and result in a totally unfamiliar
impact on surrounding land in the area. This could lead to major loss
of income for landowners.

Establishing a solar farm in the area will have an unfavorable
influence on land values. Prospective buyers will be concerned about
environmental, aesthetic, and adverse economic impacts of a solar
farm. This will then be reflected in land values and the ability to
sell and resell properties in the future.

I am not against the development of solar farms as a renewable energy
source, but I am against the location of this proposed solar farm.

As a long term resident of the Gunnedah district, I strongly oppose the
proposal for a Solar Farm near Gunnedah.
I don't oppose the idea of a Solar Farm, however I do oppose the
location of this proposal. The Solar Farm is planned to be built on a
flood plain which will have a detrimental effect on many farmer's
homes and livestock. This will also impact on the value of their
properties, causing a significant decrease.
Having grown up on a rural property near Gunnedah I value the
importance of planning for our future generations and protecting our
environment. Lets protect our farmlands and preserve them for our
farming families of the future!
