I work locally and have involvement with my career at Glendell Coal and can see the positive impact that Glencore and Glendell contribute to the local community. A positive impact that can continue and increase with the extension of the project. With 690 + new job opportunities to be made, this can only have a positive affect on the continued growth of our local area adding to increased amenities and infrastructure. Also contributing a royalty revenue stream flowing to the NSW government, adding to benefits NSW wide.
The mining downturn in 2013-2016 had a detrimental affect upon the Singleton/ Muswellbrook region. Losing this extension combined with the closures of other local mine sites will have a similar affect, which is best to be avoided.

Stead of new green fields the government should support existing operations to further expand, this way reduces the environment impacts that mining has.
Also the project will create more than 1000 jobs, construction and mining related.

I would also like to see the Ravensworth Homestead relocated to Broke for the entire community to use. This would be a great initiative for local schools to use for educational purposes as well as a function center for corporate meetings, weddings and other events. I have personally witnessed other homesteads such as Wambo and Liddell go to ruin and have all but fallen over due to the lack of care and maintenance.

Having a young autistic daughter working here has allowed me to look after all her needs
This extension will not only allow me to continue to look after my family well past retirement age but will also look after the community with added jobs and income into the surrounding towns

I object to the proposed physical and chronic extension of the Glendell Mine. Given the current state of environmental catastrophe on a national and global scale, any further activity that proliferates human reliance on archaic fossil fuels is to the detriment of all current and future life on this planet.
