I live in Aston Gardens Bellevue Hill. At the present time, boys driving to school to attend Cranbrook and Scots park in Cranbrook Lane and Aston Gardens; they speed in both streets without regard to the residents. Consequently, the traffic congestion is a serious problem. My concern is that any extended hours of operation ( to all nominated sites) will only exaccerbate the already difficult traffic situation;the traffic will only increase
My concern would be alleviated,to some extent if the users of the sites were obligated to park in the newly constructed underground car park
Thank you

Our family are local residents. Currently parking in the neighborhood is challenging particularly when parents and older students park illegally in Buckhurst Avenue waiting for children and blocking traffic or when parking out off hours and noise while people sleeping. The additional hours may exacerbate this problem. Therefore while we do not object to the changes we request the following:

+ school community reminded not to park illegally in areas like Buckhurst Avenue used for traffic to turn

+ underground car park open for free parking from say 4am so those swimming at 5am or coaches opening up earlier do not make noise on streets like St Mervyns Ave or Buckhurst Ave.

+ Free underground parking made available to local community to reduce traffic congestion for people looking for parking.

This is important to be free. Otherwise people will park at and before 5am on local streets. Should the school be unwilling to offer such free underground offf street parking, then we (and other local neighbours) object to the modifications including particularly the earlier hours.

Many thanks for your consideration.

Unless the said project has clear measures in place pertaining to effective sound barriers to address the noise pollution that will be generated by the Aquatic Centre, I object to this project. By nature of their function and use, Aquatic Centres generate a large volume of noise, particularly from whistles, pool horns and yelling and screaming associated with water polo. Firstly, the proposed hours of operation are outside the Environmental Protection Authority hours of acceptable noise. Secondly, the nature of the noise that will be generated by the Centre exceeds acceptable decibels at any time of the day (regardless of whether they are outside "normal" hours). As such, Cranbrook School would need to specifically outline how noise pollution will be addressed. This should be done in consultation with an independent noise assessor with qualifications, experience and skills in assessing the impact of noise pollution in residential areas, particularly on homes located at elevated positions where sound travels and often creates an echo chamber.

I live near the school, and see no reason why the application should not be approved. The proposed extended hours will, if anything, reduce the impact of school traffic on peak hour traffic in this neighbourhood. I have read the school's Traffic Impact Statement and agree with the school's submission. I note this application will not increase student numbers at this campus, which I understand are below the Woollahra Municipal Council approved limit.
