XXXXXXXXXXXXXX Hornsby:
I wish to make it known that I strongly object to the Re development of the property at
1Rosemead Rd Hornsby known in the district as “Mt Errington “ This property one of the original properties built in the Hornsby area is a unique example of the “Arts and Crafts” architecture of the time . Both internally and externally it has unique features which should be preserved and not adapted for another use .
As well as the heritage aspects of the property the site is completely unsuitable for purpose for which the application is being made .
1. There is a surplus of privately run and community pre-schools Servicing the area.
2.The traffic flow is already a great concern with cars having to stop to give way as there is no room to pass both in Dural street and William St. With the huge increase in traffic volume as the result of both parents, carers and staff,It will become dangerous and very difficult to negotiate.
Please remember there are retirement villages on both sides of the property anda lot of elderly and frail members of the community who will have to manage the large increase in traffic.
3. Noise.. this is a Long Day Care as well as Primary school facility which will be operating 49 weeks of the year. Surveys have been submitted proving that the levels of noise that this will generate is not compatible with the residential community that it is placed in .
4.The removal of 42 trees , some of which are included in the heritage status of the building, to make way for parking space is devastating.
This along with other changes to the landscape and the streetscape fly in the face of any conservation that the rest of the residence of the area have complied with .
In Summary.. this commercial ,for profit, development is inappropriate in this quiet heritage residential precinct and I would hope it would be reconsidered and rejected on consideration.
Your Sincerely, Kim Cubitt

I have signed a letter for the Hornsby Conservation Society as President opposing this plan but I am submitting a personal objection as I am sorry about the damage the proposal will inflict on what was my home for almost 49yrs from January 1953 to November 2001. I have studied the environmental statement of impact lodged by Heritage 21 and I object to the proposal on many grounds ...

Reading their information about their plans we believe the " Best Practice Education Group " would provide a great environment for this kind of education.
The only trouble is the site of this school will be very small and the street is narrow.
We, my wife and family have lived at this address for 53 years.
It is a street that is narrow and there is an old folks retirement complex at the end of the street.
We are only allowed to park on one side of the street as it becomes difficult for traffic when parking on both sides.
On working days the street is lined with commuter cars, people park and catch the train .
The Hornsby Station is just down the street .
A larger place for children would be so much better.
Also cutting down trees, especially large trees well established ones would be very detrimental to this area.
The large Bunya tree just near the gate is a very special and precious one !!
With 80 students coming and going there will be a lot of traffic !
Hoping that these comments will be helpful to those in charge.
Thank you for considering my submission.
