Consideration should be given to a Bush Fire Management Plan for the proposed mine site. This plan would demonstrate how the proponent intends to comply with clause 63 (2) and 64 of Part 4 Division 1 of The Rural Fires Act 1997. It should include details on;

* Water supply for fire fighting purposes, its location and use by/compatibility with NSW Rural Fire Service Tankers.
* Fire fighting capability and preparedness.
* Details of access to the property, including alternate emergency access/egress.
* Location of fire trails (if required) and schedule of works for their continued maintenance.
* Details of any proposed boundary fuel breaks or fire breaks.
* Any proposed prescribed burning.
* The location of any potential fire risks within the site.
* Who the person or position is that is responsible for maintaining the Bush Fire Management Plan in an up to date manner.

I totally support the go ahead on the Atlas-Campaspe mine.
It will bring new employment opportunities, as well as benifet the local economy in the area. Cristal have a proven track record as being a responsible mining company by making considerable dontaions to local organisations. Cristal mining is like a big family company supporting thousands of familys with their employment oportunities. Cristal have won numerous awards for the way they run their mining operations,the latest for the rehabilitation of parts of the Ginkgo mine site. I beleive if Atlas-Campaspe is to go ahead there will be further success stories on that site as well. There is so many resource deposits across australia and we need these big companys to show their support in our nation to get these deposits mined. Right now the econmy is not good and by moving foward and trying to get further mines approved Cristal Mining is showing its support for this country.

The corporation applying for this project has an excellent track record in mining and rehabilitation; an example being Ludlow in Western Australia. This means, for this project one can safely focus on the benefits the operation will have for the community, directly, and the Australian economy, on the whole.

As a direct consequence of the project, jobs will be created, and the minerals to be extracted will make an important if not crucial contribution to a whole range of products, be that domestically or on the export market.

The proposed project will generate hundreds of jobs for the region both directly and indirectly with local buisnesses benefitting from the start up and ongoing works. The higher pay levels associated with mining will help boost local economies as locals working at the new mine will be more able to provide a greater luxury to themselves and their families.

Cristal Mining has proved itself in its previous & continuing mines, Ginko & Snapper. The approval of Atls Campaspe is a positive step in the future of Broken Hill, Mildura & surrounding areas. I am employed by Cristal in the Laboratory & have previously been a operator at the Broken Hill MSP. I have enjoyed working for & watching this company grow & I honestly believe that Cristal Mining Australia is the future of this great town Broken Hill where I am a Born & bred local. Having visited the Balranald district on many occasions, the proposed mine will inject life into community, through investment in the local economy and employment for locals.
As the newly appointed Compliance Officer for Cristal Mining's Murray Basin division, I am acutely aware of the lengths that my employer goes to in reducing any unnecessary environmental harm.
I support the application and wish Cristal Mining and the Balranald community a prosperous and harmonious relationship.
