Section 7.11 local infrastructure contributions are used by councils to fund local infrastructure, ensuring that communities are supported by appropriate infrastructure. This is critical to making great places and supporting the growth of NSW.
Higher-rate local infrastructure contributions plans are independently reviewed to ensure that they are reasonable. The process involves multiple steps undertaken by council, IPART, the Department and the Minister.
The Department has identified ways to improve the review process of local infrastructure contributions plans to make it more efficient while maintaining its important function.
