Central West and Orana Regional Plan 2041

Central West and Orana

The Central West and Orana Regional Plan has been updated to reset its priorities for the region and extend its reach from 2036 to 2041.

The review of the plan involved consultation with the community and stakeholders, including during exhibition of a draft updated plan from 22 November 2021 to 18 February 2022.

The final Central West and Orana Regional Plan 2041 (the regional plan) builds on the 2036 plan as a 20-year land-use blueprint to support a prosperous future for the region.

The regional plan establishes a strategic framework, vision and direction for land use, addressing future needs for housing, jobs, infrastructure, a healthy environment, access to green spaces and connected communities.

The region consists of 19 local government areas: Bathurst Regional, Blayney, Bogan, Cabonne, Coonamble, Cowra, Dubbo Regional, Forbes, Gilgandra, Lachlan, Lithgow, Mid-Western Regional, Narromine, Oberon, Orange, Parkes, Warren, Warrumbungle and Weddin.
