Draft Illawarra Shoalhaven Regional Plan 2041

We have welcomed your feedback on the draft updated Illawarra Shoalhaven Regional Plan 2041 that will guide strategic planning and land use decisions in the region for the next 20 years.

The updated Regional Plan is the first in the state to undergo a five-year review to reset priorities and ensure continued progress and prosperity for the Illawarra Shoalhaven region for the next two decades.

The draft updated Regional Plan builds on the existing plan in a number of ways, including:

• Strengthening Metro Wollongong as a connected, innovative and progressive city;
• Growing Nowra and Shellharbour City Centres as regional cities;
• Developing a Green Grid network of connected open spaces;
• Building more resilient communities to cope with the changing climate and natural hazards.
